Hi, my name is Noah, and I’m a young animator working relentlessly toward my goal: getting into the CalArts Character Animation BFA program. I draw for hours every day — gesture studies, observational sketches, environment layouts, anatomy — all toward building a competitive portfolio. My next step is crucial: An 8-week classical figure-drawing study program in Gothenburg, Sweden. This is not a vacation. This is full-time artistic training under The Florence Academy of Art, held within the heart of Sweden. This course specializes in long-pose life drawing, master-copy practice, and intensive fundamentals that I can’t access where I currently live. Why Sweden? Because the program there focuses on the same classical draftsmanship foundations that CalArts, Pixar, and Sony use in professional animation pipelines. Strengthening these fundamentals is my best chance to reapply in 2027 with a portfolio that can truly compete. Why I’m asking for help My family recently moved to Nevada, and despite applying to many local jobs, employment has been difficult to secure. I’m still applying and doing everything I can — selling belongings, saving what I have, and spending every day improving my art. This GoFundMe is my last attempt to bridge the gap so I can afford tuition, travel, and living costs for the 8-week program.
