Kendra has always been a dedicated CTA Customer Assistant, helping countless people get where they need to go every day. Her life took a difficult turn when she was laid off from her job while bravely fighting breast cancer. Instead of focusing solely on her health, Kendra now faces the added stress of fighting to get her job back, all while trying to make ends meet. The sudden loss of income has made it nearly impossible for Kendra to cover her basic living expenses. She needs help with rent, car payments, utilities, and food while she is laid off. Every day is a challenge, but Kendra remains determined to keep going, not just for herself, but for others who might face similar struggles in the future. By supporting this fundraiser, you’re not only helping Kendra through a tough time, but you’re also giving her the strength to keep fighting for ALL CTA workers. Your donation will inspire her to escalate her efforts and become a champion for countless CTA workers who are punished when they get sick. Please consider helping Kendra today—your support will make a real difference in her life and in the lives of others. Thank you for your support, Brother Eric Curtis Muhammad Basir Executive Board Member & Steward, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 308
I'm running for ATU Local 308 president because I believe we deserve militant, pro-worker elected leadership that puts all members first. As I launch my campaign, I'm facing the challenge of covering essential expenses like outreach and merchandise. These costs are crucial for connecting with more members, sharing our vision, and building for a massive turnout that can defeat my opponents. With your support, I’ll be able to reach more union members and publish a book that will explain in every detail how we can transform Local 308 into an organization controlled by the members. This book is titled: The Members' Regime. Every dollar raised will go toward campaign materials, outreach efforts, and merchandise that help spread our message of Revolutionary Unionism and inspire participation. Together, we can build momentum through direct democracy and organize mass action for Paid Sick Leave, Full-Time Jobs For All, Two-Person Crews, Proper Tools and Equipment and more. I want ATU Local 308 to be an organization that truly works for all of the members—and is feared by the CTA mismanagers. If you believe in a brighter future for ATU Local 308, please consider donating to help cover these campaign expenses. Your contribution will inspire union members to vote in large numbers and help us achieve the positive changes we all want to see. Thank you for standing with me and supporting our movement!
