<div>Kim Hearst is the Assistant to the Dean of the College of Health and Education at Wilkes University. She is an amazing colleague, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. On March 23rd, Kim went to the ER due to severe abdominal pain. Upon receiving a CT scan, ultrasound, and X-rays the doctor informed her that she had a bowel obstruction caused by a large mass in her stomach. After being admitted and given many more tests, exams, blood work and biopsies she was discharged on March 31st with the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 cervical cancer that metastasized into her stomach. Since being discharged it has been a terrifying mental, emotional and physical battle for Kim and everybody watching her go through this.

<div>Every single day is a challenge and we all want Kim to be as comfortable as possible. We all know that this is not the Kimmie we have come to know and love! To see her lying down for 21+ hours a day, unable to stand on her own, taking multiple medications, and suffering from chronic pain leaving her unable to talk on the phone at times. This is different from the Kim who would spend her days laughing, would eat 8 times a day, and would be the loudest person in the room.

<div>With the tremendous amount of care and dozens of appointments Kim has been receiving tons of support from her family and close friends. Kim’s daughter (and her rock), Izabell age 22, has been commuting back-and-forth from Philadelphia as much as possible missing work in order to accompany her mother’s doctors visits. Her siblings have been keeping up with her 24-hour supervision that is needed to keep her safe and comfortable. Any donations received would be greatly appreciated and will be going towards medical expenses including traveling to appointments locally and in Danville, medications, things to accommodate her new way of living, and the unexpected. We hope that you are able to send prayers and well wishes during the most difficult part of her life. Kim, her family, and close friends are willing to fight every day for her to get better.

On Monday, February 15, 2021, Angela Wood lost her belongings when <a href="https://www.citizensvoice.com/news/fire-tears-through-wilkes-barre-apartment-building/article_2a02f812-c8e2-55d9-bd79-f9125fea10b8.html#:~:text=A%20fire%20tore%20through%20a,14%20people%2C%20fire%20crews%20say.&amp;text=The%20fire%20appears%20to%20have,property%2C%20which%20contains%20five%20apartments." target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">a fire took out the apartment building she was living in</a>. <br />We're all so grateful Ange and her pets are alive, but her friends realize there are many hardships to overcome after a fire.<br />She will need to secure a new place to live and replace her furniture, appliances, and clothing. None of us can imagine handling such a financial burden on our own, so we're joining forces to help Angela out.<br /><br />Throughout 2020, Angela had health concerns that set her back. She was just getting back on her feet when this fire occurred!<br /><br />Please contribute what you can!

My name is Timothy Burk, I was married to Cecile Burk for 15 years. Tuesday morning Cecile passed away in a terrible car accident. Cecile's remains will be cremated, and a memorial service is being held on Saturday 2-27-16 at Faith Assembley of God in Hazleton. The meet with the Family will be at 11am, and the memorial service will be at 12 noon. As you may know, funerals are expensive. Trying to cover the costs of a funeral as a newly single father is a little rough. Myself and my family would highly appreicate any little bit that anyone can donate. All the money rasied will go to funeral costs, and anything that is left will go to our three kids that Cecile left behind. I am very thankful for any little contribution that can be made.
