My daughter Brooklyn has always been fascinated by birds, and lately she’s become especially interested in getting a pet cockatiel. She tends to be very shy and tends to struggle with self confidence. I believe that having a pet who relies on her would give her a sense of responsibility, and would ultimately help boost her self confidence. Brooklyn has been spending an impressive amount of time researching their care, needs, and behaviors, and can tell you just about anything there is to know about owning a pet bird and, all birds in general. Her dedication and excitement around this topic has been inspiring, enough so that I decided to ask for help from others which I wouldn’t have normally done. I know having this bird would mean the world to her. As a single mother I will do my best to support her dreams, but the costs of bringing home a new pet add up quickly. Between the price of the cockatiel, vet expenses, a proper cage, food, and all the supplies needed for a happy, healthy bird, it’s more than I can manage alone right now. I want to make sure she has everything she needs to care for her new companion and give the bird the best possible start. She’s ready for this challenge, and I’m so proud of her commitment.
