My children and I have been through an incredibly tough time since Christmas. While I was at work, the person I was dating put all of our belongings outside because I didn’t want to get married. Since then, we’ve been living in hotels, just trying to have a roof over our heads. On top of that, I’m juggling bills, car payments, insurance, storage units, food, and caring for our four fur babies—two cats and two dogs. Things became even more challenging after I was in a car accident on May 1st, breaking my tailbone and wrist. It’s been hard to heal while trying to keep my family safe and together. I’ve reached out to organizations and shelters, but there’s been no help available, especially since I have pets. All I want is to find stable housing so my children and I can have a safe place to call home and I can focus on healing. I’m deeply grateful for anyone who takes the time to read, share, or support our story. I know I’m not the only one facing life’s obstacles, but your kindness will help a mother of three gain stability and give my children a home where they don’t have to worry about where they’ll sleep or what they’ll eat. I miss cooking for my family, and living in a hotel with only a microwave has been heartbreaking. Thank you for any support you can give—it truly means the world to us.

Hi, my name is Amber, and I am a single mother of three beautiful children. This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to write, but right now I truly need help. Around Christmas, my children and I were forced to leave our home after escaping a domestic violence situation. I made the difficult decision to walk away because I wanted safety and stability for my children and myself. While I was at work, we were put out with nowhere to go, and since then we have been living in a hotel trying to survive day by day. I work hard every single day and continue doing everything I can to provide for my children, but the cost of hotel stays, food, transportation, and basic necessities has made it almost impossible to save enough to get us back into stable housing. We also have our fur babies, who are part of our family and have stayed by our side through all of this. I never imagined I would be in this position, but I am asking for help so I can finally give my children a safe and stable place to call home again.
