    I’m writing on behalf of the family of Amelia, a much-loved 14-year-old from Cornwall, whose tragic passing has touched so many. Amelia was passionate about netball. She was a dedicated and competitive young player who loved the game. Her friends and family have set up a GoFundMe page to help support her parents and siblings through this unthinkable time.

Thanks to every donation, every message, and every person who has shared this fundraiser, we have now raised an incredible £25,000. We cannot thank you enough. But the reality for Amélia’s family has not changed. They are still living through something no parent or family should ever have to experience. Alongside the unimaginable grief of losing their beautiful 14-year-old daughter, there are the practical realities of trying to keep family life going while having the time and space to grieve. Our hope now is to reach £35,000. That additional support would give the family a little more breathing room during the months ahead — helping to ease the financial pressure while they focus on one another and begin to navigate life after such an enormous loss. Amélia was so deeply loved. She was bright, talented, funny and full of promise, with so much ahead of her. The generosity shown in her memory has already been extraordinary, and her family will never forget it. If you have already donated, please don’t feel that you need to donate again.
