<div>Hello, My name is Jasmine, Im a 32 year old woman and a single mother of two young boys, one who is special needs. This is quite hard for me as I am usually very independent and have been working and supporting myself since my early teens. About 5 1/2 years ago, right after the birth of my second son, I was diagnosed with FSGS kidney disease.

<div>(Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a kidney disease that occurs when the glomeruli, the kidney's filtering units, become scarred until they no longer are able to filter the body.) This leads to kidney failure and the need for dialysis and or transplant. The form I have is also resistants to steriods and the symptoms came on sudden and fast. These symptoms include hypertension, extreme fluid retention, nerve problems, nausea, lack of appetite, and severe exhaustion and much more. I have pains all over my body from the build up of toxins and I rarely get a full nights sleep because of the restless leg syndrome that comes with everything.

<div>Its very rare for a healthy young person and It turned my life upside down.
</div>
<div>The symptoms I experienced not only keep me from working but kept me locked away as I was so embarrassed by the swelling in my face and body I had become unrecognizable to the people who I loved and cause pain from my limbs being stretched beyond their normal size, imagine having 9 month pregnant feet all the time but its your entire body face included, thats the swelling I experience everyday. People Ive known my entire life have not recognized me because of the swelling in my face, and if they did I could see the pure fear and pity they felt looking at me. Not only have I suffered physically but mentally and emotionally this illness has at times broken me. This continued on until April 2022 when my kidneys finally failed after my body tried to fight a lung infection that left me hospitalized for two weeks. I have been on dialysis since, I have had to return to in center Hemo treatment as the at home PD treatment wasnt cleaning my blood well enough. I am constantly in and out the hospital because I am unable to fight infections.

<div>I need a kidney transplant, but in order to get on lists I must be able to travel to several hospitals across different states and with rent and groceries prices these days disability only barely covers the bills. I am humbly asking for help to cover the cost of travel expenses and sitters so that I may get the necessary testing done at different hospitals to be placed on their transplant list.
</div>
<div>Again this is very hard for me, to ask for charity. But I am putting pride to the side in effort to be around for my children in the future.
</div>
<div>Update: I greatly appreciate all the support I have received during this time. This illness has taken so much from me already, the worse being time. Time out having fun with my children, Time enjoying life with my friends and family, Time with my father who passed the day after christmas 2024, At that time I caught the Flu and because Of my inability to fight infection I went completely septic and almost died within weeks of my father passing. I never got the time to grieve because I have had to fight for my life. Ive lost years to this illness already.

<div>Its terrifying knowing this could possibly be what takes me from this world but it is a blessing to know I have the love and support of so many people. I pray I am able to get through this and spend my life giving that same love back into the world.

<div>On Saturday, August 24th at 4:50 PM our beautiful Izabella gained her wings. She was wrapped in her mother's arms and surrounded by family.

<div>We know she is in Heaven pain free and running and laughing amongst the Angels.

<div>Trust me when I say this....they are all up there laughing and having a good time because if you knew Bella you would know just how beautiful and infectious her laugh was.

<div>As many of you may know, Izabella was able to go home for a short amount of time. Last weekend she was re-admitted into Albany Medical Center ICU. Since then her health has been declining rapidly. My sister Danyel and Bella's dad Dan have been faced with making an extremely difficult decision. A decision that no parent should ever have to make. Today 8/17, Bella has been brought home under the care of hospice. Please continue praying for Izabella and the rest of our family during this difficult time. <div>On Wednesday, July 10th Izabella was in respiratory distress and had to be airlifted to Albany medical center. She has been in the pediatric ICU battling double pneumonia, sepsis and MRSA. Her left lung was completely filled with mucus and the right lung started to rapidly fill up and then collapsed. She had to be intubated and placed on life support. They have been able to take her off of the ventilator and use other forms or breathing equipment but the doctors have informed my sister that Izabella may need to be placed back on the ventilator as she is still unable to breathe on her own. Along with all of this she has been battling prolonged internal and external seizures.

<div>My sister and the doctors are doing everything that they possibly can. It is now up to Izabella to keep fighting! Anyone who knows her, knows that she can be quite feisty!

Support Izabella's Fight for Breath

<div>Hi, my name is Jessica. I’m raising funds for my son Jaxon who is fighting so hard just to stay alive. On his 2nd birthday in August 2023, we got concerning labs back which led to his diagnosis’s. He has dyskeratosis congenita and congenital amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia. We recently found out he has Hoyeraal–Hreidarsson syndrome, which is a more severe form of the dyskeratosis congenita. He has needed multiple surgeries. He has GI issues so has had a G tube for feeding. He is hearing impaired and non verbal. He went through intense chemotherapy leading up to a bone marrow transplant. His bone marrow transplant at Memorial Sloan Kettering seemed to be successful, but just before he was going to be released to outpatient care, he got a rash that covered his entire body. He was experiencing frequent fevers. His skin began to peel right off his little body. He got pneumonia.  His oxygen levels dropped below 30%. In a matter of days his health dramatically declined. He went from a breathing tube, to a CPAP mask, to being intubated and is on a ventilator. He is currently in the pediatric intensive care unit at Cornell to have access to a more powerful ventilator, still fighting so hard for his life. 

Jaxon is the sweetest happiest boy. His smile could light up a room. He has remained strong throughout everything. We have a very long road ahead of us as he continues to fight just to breathe and heal. 

Any donation is so greatly appreciated. Funds raised will go towards travel expenses, maintaining a house to go home to once he is healthy and medical expenses that are not covered. I am unable to maintain a job while staying inpatient with him. Donations are allowing me to be here for my son in his greatest time of need. I am eternally grateful for this.

<div>Hi! My name is Nichole, I am doing this in hopes to help a very close friend and her family. About 4 years ago, my friend, Melissa was diagnosed with cancer. After years of chemo and radiation she found herself with a major life altering decision. She would have to undergo days of surgery, in hopes to be free of this nasty disease. She underwent one day of 12 hour surgery and the next day underwent 28 hours of surgery where doctors worked all night long to make sure her body was free of cancer cells after removing the tumor that came back. During this surgery Melissa lost organs and parts of bone that nobody should ever have to live without, but she did that to be here for her three children. Melissa will be away from her children, her family, and her home for weeks, if not months. Her mother has been in NYC by her side this entire time and will have to start commuting daily just to be there to make sure Melissa is being positive and making sure her babygirl is ok. None of us can imagine what Melissa is going thru, the pain she is feeling, and knowing that she misses her babies and will not be home for Christmas. I’m asking for help with getting her mom there, and any other expenses that come along this long road of recovery. Melissa would go to the end of the world for the people she loves and I think it’s about time we try to return the favor and in hopes of creating this we can all show her family the support they need. Melissa not only will be away from her children, she will be out of work and anything at this point can help her! Thank you for taking the time to read this and please spread the word.
