<div>I never imagined I would be writing these words.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Just yesterday, my husband, Jose, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. He was so young. In an instant, our lives changed forever.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He wasn't just my husband. He was my best friend, my partner in everything, and the most loving father to his three kids, Scarlette, Mia and Joseph. He was the kind of person who could make anyone laugh, always telling jokes and bringing smiles to those around him. He was confident in everything he did, and he had a strength that really inspired everyone who knew him. But above all else, he loved our kids with all his heart. They were his greatest joy and the center of his world.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, instead of planning for tomorrow, I am trying to find the strength to make it through today.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>There is no way to prepare for this kind of loss. My kids have lost their dad far too soon, and I have lost the person I thought I would grow old with. This grief is so overwhelming, and the road ahead feels impossible to imagine.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Many of you have asked how you can help. This fundraiser will help with funeral and memorial costs, and keeping things stable for our kids as we try to get through this heartbreaking loss.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Asking for help is not easy, but any donation, no matter the amount, will mean more than I can express. If you're unable to give, sharing this fundraiser and keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers is very much appreciated.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for all your love and support. We will honor his memory every day by raising our kids to know just how much their dad loved them.

Gone Too Soon: In Loving Memory of Jose Quinonez

<p>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my beautiful mother, Alice Gutierrez Alvarez, on Thursday, March 5, 2026. My mom was selfless, loving, and deeply devoted to her family. She loved her daughters unconditionally and nurtured each of us with strength, compassion, and empathy. She is survived by her five daughters, Diana, Christina, Ana, Alicia, and Marquette Alvarez, and was the loving partner of my father, Chuy, for 47 years. My mom was truly the backbone of our large family. She sacrificed so much for those she loved and was deeply committed to caring for my Grandma Pavi until the day she passed away. She also helped raise many of our cousins alongside my grandma when their parents had to work, caring for her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. My mom was also one of nine sisters, known lovingly as “the Gs,” who grew up together in the Ramona Gardens housing projects in East Los Angeles, California. Family meant everything to her and she carried those values with her throughout her life. Even in recent years, while facing complicated medical issues, she remained a fighter and did everything she could to take care of herself, faithfully following her doctors’ advice every step of the way. She touched the lives of so many people, and her love and presence will be deeply missed. During this incredibly difficult time, our family is asking for support to help cover funeral and memorial expenses so we can honor her life and give her the beautiful service she deserves. Any contribution, no matter the amount, means so much to our family. We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support from everyone who has reached out.
