What Shane cares about

My name is Shane Spence. I’m originally from Roaring River, Jamaica. I started this page to help my community because of the damage caused by the hurricane.

Dear friends, family, and kind supporters, My name is Shane Spence, and I’m originally from Roaring River in Westmoreland, Jamaica. I now live in Canada, but my heart remains with my community — and right now, they need our help more than ever. Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica and caused devastating damage across Westmoreland. In Roaring River, many families lost their homes, belongings, and crops. Roofs were ripped off, trees and power lines were destroyed, and the river overflowed, flooding everything in its path. To make things worse, we’re still having trouble reaching loved ones — many lines are down, and communication through social media and phone calls has been unreliable. Some families haven’t been able to connect with their relatives yet, leaving everyone worried and anxious. Despite the hardship, the people of Roaring River remain strong and resilient. But recovery will take time, and our community needs support. That’s why I started this GoFundMe — to help families get back on their feet. Your donations will go toward: Food, clean water, and other essentials Clothing and bedding for displaced families Materials to rebuild and repair homes Support for children, elders, and families still struggling after the storm Even a small contribution can make a big difference. Whether it’s $5, $10, or whatever you can give, every bit helps a family start again with hope. If you’re unable to donate, please share this campaign so others can see and lend a helping hand. From the bottom of my heart — thank you for your kindness, prayers, and love for the people of Roaring River. Together, we can help them rise again. I’ll be posting updates and photos as I receive them from community members, so everyone who donates can see the difference their support is making. With gratitude, Shane Spence #RoaringRiverStrong #HurricaneMelissaRelief #JamaicaRiseAgain
