Hello my lovely people, I never imagined I would be writing something like this, but I find myself needing to ask for help. Last Friday/Saturday, I suffered a stroke and was rushed to hospital. I spent four days in Intensive Care and am currently recovering on the stroke ward at West Middlesex Hospital. This has been one of the most frightening and challenging times of my life. While I focus on my recovery, my wonderful son Ben has been looking after everything at home, including our dogs. To do this, he has had to reduce his normal working hours, which has put a real strain on our finances. We are struggling to cover our rent, household bills, and the extra costs that come with my recovery. When I am discharged, I will need support with everyday tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and other household chores while I regain my strength and independence. Our beloved dog Spot also needs veterinary treatment very soon. He has to be sedated for nail clipping because he becomes extremely distressed when anyone touches his feet, so this is an additional expense we are worried about. As difficult as it is to ask, any help you can offer would mean the world to us. No donation is too small, and if you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would be just as appreciated. Hi peeps, I would like to thank you all for donating to Spots ACL fund last year. He hasn’t had the operation yet but the vet is more concerned about a lump on his left leg. He had the lump when he came to live with me in November 2024. During the last month or so it has got bigger. Spot saw the vet today and she would like to do a biopsy and ultrasound on it. She said it’s most probably a lipoma but as it has grown she would like to rule anything sinister out. I hate having to ask people again for their help. I just want to see my Spot happy and playing and chasing with his beloved ball again Spot is a rescue that has lived with us for 15 months. He has a great character and so much more life to live ❤️ Thank you all once again for all your help and support for Spot. Help Spot Get Back on His Feet Spot has been part of our family for just over a year, and in that time he has brought so much joy. He’s a loving, cheeky Jack Russell who believes one thing above all else — ball is life! Three months ago, Spot slipped on the stairs while coming to bed and suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament and a fractured femur in one of his back legs. He has been incredibly brave, but the injury has changed his day-to-day life. He now needs to be carried up and down the stairs, and he can’t chase his favourite ball — something he just doesn’t understand. We’ve seen an orthopaedic specialist who says that surgery is his best chance of regaining mobility, avoiding further damage, and living pain-free. Without surgery, Spot is at risk of a full rupture and developing arthritis. --- ✅ Cost of Surgery We have received a veterinary estimate for the total cost of Spot’s operation and required care: Estimated total: £4,320.39 This includes: TPLO cruciate surgery Anaesthesia Hospital care Medication & pain relief Antibiotics Follow-up checks Sutures (Additional post-operative care may be required.) --- Unfortunately, Spot is not insured, and although many of you kindly helped us previously with his tests and pain medication, those funds have now been used. We are now asking for help to give Spot the chance to live comfortably again. Even the smallest donation — even the price of a coffee — means so much to us. ❤️ Spot is 14, but our vet says there is no reason he can’t enjoy another 4–5 happy years with proper treatment. He deserves the chance to spend those years doing what he loves most: running around, being his silly self, and playing ball.
