<div>The Usher Family is starting this fundraiser for our dear brother and brother-in-law as he is struggling with the mounting medical bills. Shortly after being diagnosed, Bill began a very aggressive and difficult treatment of a combination of strong chemotherapy and radiation. Bill worked through much of his treatment to try and cover the cost of his bills but there came a point where he could no longer work. Bill finished this round of treatment but the doctors are unsure whether they were able to get all of the cancer. With that uncertainty, more appointments and specifically expensive PET scans are needed, which he has to pay out of pocket. Bill has pushed himself to get back to work but can’t work full-time yet so he’s really struggling to pay his medical costs. He also has more issues that have come about due to the side effects of the treatments that are adding to his out-of-pocket expenses.

<div>It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Kevin Bogus, who passed away due to unexpected health complications on Friday, May 27, 2022. Kevin was the beloved husband to Amy Wyman Bogus and loving father to Reagan (10 years old) and Grayson (5 years old). Kevin touched the lives of so many as a husband, father, son, teacher, and friend. Kevin will always be remembered for his charisma, perseverance, sense of humor, love of comic books and Avengers movies, along with his amazing ninja warrior skills!

<div>Kevin was a dedicated teacher at Fort Plain Jr/Sr High School. He was passionate about physical fitness and working with kids. Kevin also loved working at the Albany Ninja Lab, and he even built a backyard ninja gym for his own children.

<div>Kevin is survived by his wife Amy (Eagle Elementary Kindergarten teacher in the Bethlehem Central School District) and their two children, Reagan and Grayson (Voorheesville Elementary School), and his parents, Tony and Ginny Bogus, who reside in Florida.

<div>Well not many know but on April 16th 2022 my brother Mike Jensen was admitted to Albany Medical Center for emergency brain surgery. He had a huge bleed in his brain that thank god his phenominal surgeon  stopped. Mike was discharged from the hospital yesterday. He is doing ok but has a lot of deficits and will have excessive PT and rehab to regain his strength, cognitive abilities and vision. He has a long road ahead but has a very supportive family.  I am starting this Fundraiser because Mike will not be able to work due to these deficits and I want him to be able to rest his brain and not think about whether he is going to lose his home and how to pay his bills.

Mike Jensen’s Recovery

<div>   Three years ago Richard was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS/ Lou Gehrig's Disease). ALS is a fatal, degenerative disease that causes muscular weakness, motor function decline, and painful muscle spasms.  
</div>
<div>   The shower Rich currently has is too difficult for him to safely access because of the lip around the base. Taking his shower chair into the shower is impossible and stepping over the lip is getting exceedingly difficult and dangerous. A new roll in shower would allow him to take his shower chair into the shower safely and gain some temporary relief from the joint and muscle pain caused by his ALS.

<div>Hey! We’re the Weick family! On June 27,2012 we opened our home and hearts for our precious girl Amari through fostering. We fought to adopt her and we were finally able to adopt on March 26,201.  We found out last night that the birth mother filed an appeal to the adoption. There is a slim chance it could go in their favor, but still a chance.. We’re faced with having to sign a new retainer and find $7,500 so the attorneys that we had during the adoption can represent us during the appeal. Otherwise we may have to represent ourselves and that wouldn’t be good. We don’t understand why this is happening. We need to feel His presence more than ever. <div>It’s all confusing, but it’s true. We don’t know how or why, but they filed an appeal and it was accepted by the courts. With it being a different court from before, our attorney is asking us to sign and pay for a new retainer. It is an emotional roller coaster that’s for sure. <br />

<div>The Cummings Family has a strong Christian Faith. Bryan and Stacey have been married for almost 20 years. They have 3 children. Their daughter, Bailey, who will soon be 23-years old and their 16-year-old twin boys Colby and Cadan. Bailey is a recent graduate from a local University and their boys are juniors at a local High School. Bryan and Stacey are very involved in their church. They are mentors on many levels and strong advocates for marriage preparations and life coaches for engaged couples, newlyweds, as well as those with many years of marriage. The Cummings Family are true examples of Stewards of God.

<div>On June 11th, 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the family received news that Bryan was diagnosed with Stage IV Prostate Cancer. The cancer had already metastasized to the bones of his ribs, spine, pelvis, and hips. Bryan did 10 rounds of radiation treatment during the summer of 2020, followed by a course of chemotherapy. The family experienced the expected ups and downs of cancer treatment but overall the medical team was optimistic. November 2020, the family celebrated the completion of chemo and began preparing for the Christmas 2020 season.

<div>In early February 2021, Bryan was approved for Immunotherapy (a cancer treatment that uses the power of the body's own immune system to prevent, control, and eliminate cancer). He finished immunotherapy in early April, however this treatment wasn’t as effective as they all hoped.

<div>In May 2021, the family celebrated Bailey’s college graduation and continued to cheer on Colby and Cadan as they played soccer (one of Bryan’s favorite pastimes).

<div>The treatment for each patients’ cancer is unique and individualized and no one knows how the course will play out. There are ups and downs along the way, and throughout all of this, the family has continued to remain positive and focused on their family and making life be “as normal” as possible.

<div>She has been through all kinds of facilities &amp; hospitals including Albany Medical Center (at least 25 times), Saratoga Hospital, St. Peters, Veritas in NC and Center for Discovery in CT and Walden (the list goes on). Right now she has two tubes a J-tube and G-Tube and a permanent suprapubic catheter. She has seen over 25 psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists.

<div>At this point we can’t find anyone who can and is willing to help her further. The medical profession has failed our daughter. Dr.’s and hospital legal teams have insisted the best thing to do is to call <strong>HOSPICE</strong>. Insurance companies have prevented eating disorder facilities from accepting her, even after we’ve said we would pay out of pocket. We are committed to do everything it takes to keep our daughter alive and we won’t give up on her. Eating Disorders Should Not Be Treated By Hospice

The last thing I ever thought I would ever have to do is ask for help for my sister Chrissy and her family. I write this with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes as it seems so surreal at times.  Above anything we ask for a chain of prayers. <br />The entire month of February 2021 has reached so many levels of uncertainty. Chrissy began having seizures that ended up resulting in multiple emergency room visits and neurology screenings. She was not responding to any of the cocktail of medicines that were tried. In the long run Chrissy ended up being admitted to the care of Albany Medical Center for 2 weeks. She had taken a quick turn that ended up with an unimaginable amount seizures throughout the day and night which came along with a slew of additional neurological issues, one being loss of short term memory. What we have learned so far by the series of tests which included a spinal fluid tap is that she has autoimmune encephalitis. There are still other areas of concern being looked into and we are blessed to find that she responded well to the IV-IG treatment thus far. Prior to begining the treatment was was placed on a high dose of steroids to bring down the swelling in her brain while more tests were performed.  We are so grateful for the care she has received from her team of neuro doctors at AMC. There is still so much unknown but we do know that this is projected to be very long road of recovery for her (and her family) in all areas (physical, cognitive, mental health, etc). Chrissy is home now and continuing her recovery while being around the love of her children, husband, dog and close relatives. Some of her tests had to be sent out to the Mayo clinic and we are still awaiting those results.  This has not been the only health issue taking a toll on this family. Chrissy was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Rheumatoid Arthritis a couple years ago which has had its own challenges and limitations.<br /> Chrissy is a mom of two, a 13 yr old girl and 8 yr old boy. She is the best mom to this very special niece and nephew of mine. Chrissy is also blessed to have married a man that has an abundance amount of love for her. The road ahead is still uncertain and will not always be that easy. She is not ready to carry the independency she one had but we know she will get there! Right now she needs 24/7 care during her recovery.  This situation comes with financial hardship and uncertainty as they are a family of one income and have been stretched thin due to the increase in medical bills over a short period of time. My wish is to be able to lighten their load in any way that I think is possible. We understand not everyone will be able to support them by giving a monetary donation at this time. We are reaching out for prayers above anything.

<p>As some of you are aware our Mom, Cathy Campbell, was diagnosed with stage 4 brain and esophageal cancer in the beginning of March of 2020. <br />While we were hopeful for the treatment plan set forth by her doctor, we just got the devastating news that Hospice will be coming in to provide her comfort for the time she has left. 
</p>

<p>For those of you who don’t know our mom, she has always put others before herself. She always worked hard to provide for her family, even at the risk of not being able to fulfill her own dreams. 
</p>

<p>One of her wishes is to be buried and to have both our sister and dads ashes buried with her. Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties for many years, she doesn’t have the money to fulfill her wishes. 
</p>

<p>Many have asked us what they can do to help. We need financial help at this time to plan our mothers funeral and burial. If you are able to donate to this fund, so that in our mother’s final days she can plan out her wishes, we would be forever grateful. <br /><br />

Stefanie and Brooke Schaffer were traveling on vacation with their mother and stepfather, Stacey and Paul Bender. On Saturday June 30th the family joined a boat tour to enjoy the sights off the island of Exuma, located about 130 miles south of Nassau. The boat bursts into flames shortly after 9 a.m.<br /><br />Stefanie sustained life threatening injuries including a double amputation and remains in critical condition. Stacey suffered multiples broken bones and internal injuries. Paul and Brooke suffered bruises and cuts.<br /><br />Brooke and Stefanie’s father and Brother are traveling to be with them in the Bahamas, George and George Jr.<br /><br />We are raising funds for the medical and travel expenses.  With the support of the family, we have launched a GoFundMe page, in hopes to raise $50,000.00. We know their expenses will far exceed this as this becomes a life long struggle for this family.

As Ron nears the end of an unbelievably couragous battle, he has requested one last thing. He wants and needs to know that his two boys (Colin &amp; Henry) will be okay, will have financial support, will continue to have opportunities and experiences that he will not be able to give them himself.<br /> <br />For 42 years, Ron has always given to everyone else and asked for nothing.  He has lived with and fought these last 8 years of cancer with nothing but grace and dignity. Ron Casey Jr.'s  Last Wish

So the invasive ductal carcinoma, or breast cancer has returned and after 15 months it is progressing in my brain and in my organs. For four months I was given chemo, but it did not work. We are reaching out to those who may have some resources to help. I do not believe that I will be able to return back to work and that will create a huge financial burden for us.
