What they care about

I love my dog, my kid, and advocating for those that cannot advocate for themselves.

We have 30 days to retain our legal counsel per the courts. We were only granted 30 more days. We need your support more now than ever!

I was encouraged to revive the gofundme despite the hurtful comments I received, but I'm still unsure if I'm ready to put it back up. I did it anyway, so here we go. For those who may not know my story, I've had the privilege of caring for my non-biological, non-kin child since May 2014. I only have custody. We did attempt to adopt, but bio mom left the state before we could. In the eyes of the courts, I am a glorified unpaid foster parent, but to him- I am all he has ever known. The biological father was released from prison in January after serving 5 years for soliciting minors and has now teamed up with his father to file for joint custody. They have a great lawyer and a great case given that Virginia is a reunification state. I have contacted legal aide- I do not qualify. I've had a consultation with a lawyer (that happens to have history with this case from 2014) who graciously offered me a $15,000 discount, and I've managed to pay her $1,250 so far through donations and my hard work with Lyft and Uber. My court date is Wednesday, June 10th. If you feel led to support me, you can do so by donating here through gofundme or you can use venmo or cashapp. I don't have PayPal. Venmo - @felycia1987 Cashapp - $keepjayhome Every donation, big or small, brings me hope and encouragement. If you're unable to give, your love, prayers, and positive vibes mean the world to us. Thank you.
