<div>I'm Janet Webb and each year my husband Carl and I try to help a family in need during the holidays. We have accomplished that this year (2024). However, another family we know was hit hard with an unexpected situation.

<div>Levi is a young man who was diagnosed with rhinovirus and microplasmic pneumonia and has an extremely serious case. He became sick on December 9th, 2024, on December 11th, 2024 he was taken to the doctor and a diagnosis was made, and by December 14th, 2024 he was rushed by ambulance to Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines. From there, his illness has ravaged his body in the worst way. His Mom, Bethany, has been with him and has had to be off from work to help the doctors and nurses care for her son.

<div>As a single Mom, Bethany is now out of PTO/Sick Days from work. She has received some help from some of the outreach programs in Winterset, Iowa. However, with her needing to be at her son's bedside and not being able to go to work, it is causing a lot of stress for her and her family.
</div>

<div>Levi's body has these lesions on the outside and inside of his body. His throat is so sore that he can't eat or drink very much because it is so painful. His mouth bleeds when he tries. Fluids are given by IV. Doctor's are anticipating another week of treatment and recovery for Levi. The sores feel like severe burns and require creams and ointments to be applied for comfort. Levi has been on morphine to help with breathing and pain management as well as other medications and steroids.

<div>Levi's Mom could really use some love! She is faithful at staying at her son's bedside, trying to do all she can to help encourage him in his recovery. But the next month or two is going to be a huge challenge financially to get caught up and back in the groove of everyday life.
</div>
