Stay Strong 44

On April 11, 2026, our family’s world changed overnight when our 12-year-old son Luciano was diagnosed with leukemia. But the truth is… our family already understood what it meant to live inside uncertainty long before cancer entered our lives. For nearly 20 years, we have been raising our oldest son, Santo, who has profound disabilities and complex medical needs. Our life has always required strength, adaptation, sacrifice, resilience, and learning how to find beauty and joy even in the hardest moments. We already knew what it meant to fight for a child. What we never imagined was having to do it again in a completely different way. Luciano was the kid who lived for baseball, his friends, family, laughter, and his endless creativity with LEGO builds. He’s strong, hilarious, kind-hearted, resilient, and deeply loved by everyone who knows him. Watching childhood suddenly become hospital stays, procedures, medications, scans, treatments, and uncertainty has been heartbreaking beyond words. There are moments that split your life into before and after. This has been one of ours. And yet somehow, through all of this, Luciano continues to smile. He continues to fight. He continues to be himself. “Stay Strong 44” started as something small — a way to rally around Luciano — but it has grown into something so much bigger. It has become a symbol of love, community, strength, hope, and people showing up for our family in ways we will never forget. The support we’ve received has carried us through some of the darkest and most overwhelming days of our lives. Donations will help support Luciano’s ongoing treatment journey, transportation to and from appointments and hospital stays, missed work, household expenses, medical-related costs, and the many unexpected financial burdens that come with pediatric cancer.
