  3. My husband has struggled with what we thought were night terrors his entire life, but after years of unexplained nighttime episodes and multiple seizures, his doctor now believes he may have Sleep-Related Hypermotor Epilepsy. This is an extremely rare neurological disorder where seizures happen during sleep and are often mistaken for night terrors, panic attacks, or sleepwalking. The episodes can involve rigid body movements, abnormal posturing, sudden waking, gasping for air, fear-like reactions, and loss of awareness. Because the seizures happen while sleeping, many people are misdiagnosed for years or even decades. In some rare familial forms, this condition is believed to affect only around 1 in 100 families worldwide. Many doctors may never see a confirmed case during their entire careers. He is still in the process of getting a full diagnosis, and right now, our lives have completely changed. Because of these seizures, he is currently unable to safely work or drive. While he undergoes further testing, treatment, and the process of applying for disability, the financial burden has fallen on me. I am doing my best to care for our family, manage household expenses, and cope with the emotional toll of constant fear and sleep deprivation. We are asking for help with medical bills, household expenses, lost income, travel for appointments, and basic necessities while we fight for answers and stability. If you’re able to donate, share, or even just keep us in your prayers, it would mean more than you know. Thank you for supporting our family during this incredibly difficult time.
