<div>When she was finally moved to <strong>Bruns House in Alamo, CA</strong>, everything changed. For the first time in weeks, she was unplugged and free from tubes and monitors. The nurses and staff gently bathed her, applied lotion, and positioned her just so, giving her a kind of comfort our whole family had been aching for her to have. It was the peace she deserved, and Bruns House gave it to her in her final days.

On that day, 1000s of men and women risked their lives to help save the 1000s of Americans who were trapped in the towers. Many of those souls were lost. While there are several great organizations who support our first responders and our Veterans, there are few that do it better with more pride and professionalism than The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T).

Support Tunnel to Towers on the 25th Anniversary of Sept 11

<div>On August 31, Erin Piacenti, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, was killed in a random, senseless, and unprovoked attack in Times Square. She was just 32 years old.

<div>Five months earlier, Erin and her husband, Frank, had welcomed their first child, Madison. Becoming a mother was Erin's lifelong ambition, and Madison gave her the greatest possible joy. August 31 was Erin's first day returning to work after her maternity leave.
</div>

<div>Erin's life was defined not by the circumstances of her death, but instead by the way she lived. Erin was deeply devoted to her family and friends, exceptionally bright and accomplished, and was someone who brought warmth and energy to the people around her.
</div>

</div>
<div>Erin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied political science and sang in an a cappella group. She started her career as a buyer at Bloomingdale's. Erin later graduated from Fordham University School of Law <em>magna cum laude</em>, worked at Davis Polk for several years, and became a vice president at Bank of America.
</div>

<div>Erin's career accomplishments, however, speak to only a small portion of who she was. To the people who knew and loved her, Erin was a thoughtful daughter and sister, a loyal friend, a devoted partner and companion in every aspect of Frank's life, and, most recently, an incredibly loving mother to Madison.

<div>Erin and Frank celebrated their second wedding anniversary this summer, had just returned from a family road trip upon her passing, and were preparing to build a life together with their new daughter. That life changed incomprehensibly in an instant.

<div><strong>This fund has been established to support Madison and her future.</strong> It offers the many people who loved Erin, knew her, worked with her, or have simply been moved by her story a way to honor Erin by helping care for the daughter she loved more than anything.

<div>I started swimming when I was around 3 years old. I joined my first summer league team at 5. And began swimming year-round with club teams by the time I was 8.

<div>My Dad never missed a swim meet my entire career.

<div>Even as I got faster and we traveled farther. Even when I went to college out of state and competed every weekend from fall through spring. Even when I made Nationals - my parents packed up my little brothers and drove 20 hours to watch me swim two races that lasted a total of 1 minute 15 sections - combined - two years in a row.

</div>
<div>This persisted even into adulthood, with him (thankfully) flying out to see my brothers and I swim in the Catalina sprint triathlon, and later when we also 'Escaped' from Alcatraz.
</div>

<div>He was always there. Until one day, he couldn't be.
</div>

</div>
<div>Nearly 15 years ago, my Dad lost his battle with Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer that attacks the bone marrow. He passed away just nine months after his diagnosis.

<div>He was my best friend.
</div>

<div>For some reason, over the past year, I've found it nearly impossible to get myself back into the water. I'll go to the gym with my suit on...and walk. Or lift weights. Or stretch. I'll do almost anything else. But swimming - the sport that was such a huge part of our lives - has been the one thing I can't seem to do.

I'm Swimming 5 Miles in August to support Cancer Research

<div>My name is Kevin. I'm Diana's husband, and I've known these two women for nearly 40 years.

<div>In all that time, I have never once seen Diana leave Candace's side. Not when they were raising their kids. Not when life got hard. And not now — not through this.

<div>Last year, Candace was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a mastectomy, the full weight of what she was facing became clear: chemotherapy, then radiation five days a week, then immunotherapy. A long, grueling road. And recently, her hair has started falling out — which if you know Candace, you know how much that means to her.

<div>She is facing all of this from public housing, on government assistance, food stamps, and Medicare. She has spent her life on the bottom rung, and now she's fighting the hardest battle of that life with almost nothing in her pockets.

Emergency Relief for Venezuela Earthquake Victims

<div>My name is Susan Carroll and I created this fundraiser for my best friend, Nicole Martinez, who has breast cancer. AGAIN. Her first diagnosis in 2018 was dealt with head-on; given family history she had a bilateral mastectomy to ensure it wouldn’t come back. This new diagnosis of invasive breast cancer in her lymph node was never supposed to happen. But it has. Nicole and I have been best friends for over 40 years; she would never ask for help, but this round she needs it. And quickly.

<div>We received the bad news in March. It’s JUNE. June. Her surgery is scheduled for July. Why? Because initially she had to scramble to cover costs for testing, switch hospitals, switch surgeons. All to save money. Honestly I can’t stand it; she needs a reserve to get the best treatment she can and as quickly as she can and not be stressed about how she’s going to pay for it.

She’s already paid out of pocket for a doctor-ordered PET scan after three appeals to her PPO were denied, delaying her treatment plan by weeks. No more - It’s time to get it out and this process behind her. She is facing rounds of chemo and radiation after surgery and we just don’t know yet how long she will be down.

At the same time, he helped care for our father, a decorated WWII Veteran who served in the Pacific and received a Bronze Star. <div>"On December 13, 2025, in Palmyra, Syria, United States troops were ambushed on a routine patrol. During this attack, two American Soldiers and a US Civilian interpreter were killed in action, and three American Soldiers were injured.

<div>Two of the injured soldiers were flown to a base for medical attention. Another soldier was treated on base for his injuries. The soldier who was treated on base was Sargent Andrew Henschel. Sargent Henschel, a medic, was injured while treating the other soldiers who were injured. Due to his bravery while under attack, he earned the Combat Action Badge and a Purple Heart. Governor Kim Reynolds pinned Sargent Henschel with his Purple Heart on base in Syria.

<div>Sargent Henschel serves out of Des Moines, Iowa, in the 1st Squadron, 113th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division. He was deployed to the Inherent Resolve Mission in Syria from July 2025 to February 2026. Andrew was a 2016 graduate of Lake Mills High School.

<div>He is currently back at home living with his parents waiting on VA benefits. His dreams for the future include going back to school for Pilots License, moving to Wyoming, and starting a family.

<div>I am hosting a 1,000 acts of kindnes challenge at Lake Mills Community Schools in Iowa &amp; when Sam contacted me about helping him with his 50 veterans, 50 states, 50 days campaign - I knew this was the perfect opportunity to rally an entire community around changing someone's life. With over 700 students who will be a part of this day, we have a chance to do something extremely special for this veteran. Sargent Andrew Henschel went to this exact school, given his recent heroic actions saving 2 soldiers lives, he felt like the perfect candidate!"

<div>On Friday, December 29th, our mother was robbed and murdered right outside of our family's restaurant in Arlington. Our family is completely heartbroken and still trying to wrap our heads around what has happened. Our mother was the most amazing and caring woman you'd ever meet. She touched so many lives with her love and generosity. She leaves behind 4 kids and 3 grand babies.

In Loving Memory of Tho Tieu aka Mrs. Kim

Hi Friends and Family,<br /><br />In August of 2019, the Obenshain family and those who knew Jim, suffered a devastating loss. We want his legacy to live on and keep his memory alive. <br /><br />The world is better for having had Jim Obenshain in it, he was incredibly kind man who put his heart and soul into everything he did -- he built a cabin in the dead of winter in the middle of British Columbia, moved to the Appalachian region to live off the land and later started numerous successful companies from his backyard (the most recent becoming the number one supplier of bird feeders to WalMart, Home Depot and Lowes). He fathered 4 children and doted on his loving wife, and was giving back every chance he had...Jim's unique story is one that should never be forgotten.<br /><br />Many have asked to make a donation in Jim's honor so  his kids set up this 'gofundme' page with the purpose of making small donations to causes that were important to Jim. Each year, his kids will decide on a worthy cause that was close to Jim's heart. Some will include: <br />Campobello Island Lighthouse which Jim spent his summers restoring, <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/headharbourlight/39503614421/in/photostream/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">see pictures here of Jim working on the lighthouse</a>  -- one of his very favorite projects), Nature/Trees, Care for animals, etc.<br /><br />We think this would be a great way to honor Jim's memory and invest in what mattered to him most so others can enjoy as he did. Thank you for considering a small donation in his honor.

Jim Obenshain Memorial Fund

<p>My family and I suffered a great loss yesterday. My father Jesus Cervantes(left, 72) and two brothers Joel(right, 29) and Roberto(38) Cervantes lost their lives. As many of you may have read or heard, Roberto was suffering from a mental illness. We could not get him the help he most desperately needed because of the laws implemented for Mental Health. Because of this, his conditioned worsened and caused him to take the life of my father, Joel, and then himself.<br /><br />Not only is my family going through this difficult and tragic time, but we are now facing a financial situation with the funeral arrangements for my father and brothers. Any bit of Donations would help to lessen the burden.<br /><br />Once we have all the arrangements figured out, we will give details on a Memorial Service.<br /><br />Thank you</p>
