<div>When the Russia-Ukraine war escalated in February 2022 with Russia invading Ukraine, I was deeply affected and compelled to help.

<div>The main reason for this is my granddad was a WWII war orphan at the age of 9. His family torn apart from the farm they lived in Eastern Poland. He lost both his parents, his father died fighting against the Red Army and his mother of starvation.
</div>

<div>He was rescued by a charity organisation and sent to a child refugee camp near Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya, Africa. After spending 6 years there his older brother (who went to fight in the Polish army) arranged for him to come to UK, that's where they both remained after the war ended.

<div>I am fundraising for my humanitarian missions to help refugees and animals. Also to supply various aid and vehicles to the suffering people and defenders of Ukraine.

<div>We have carried out over 20 missions to Ukraine. Many tonnes of aid supplied. Over 40 refugees rescued and transported to UK/European sponsor families. Over 20 animals rescued and transported throughout Europe. Also over 40 vehicles supplied to the defenders of Ukraine.

John's Red Bus Ukraine War Refugee Fundraiser

<div>The war in Ukraine is continuing and the hardship faced by ordinary civilians has increased considerably. There are millions of people forced to leave their homes, thousands of orphans and sadly many who have been disabled and injured by the war. With the onset of winter and the lack of heating and electric life will be even more miserable.

<div>My name is Chris and I have made several visits to Ukraine taking my van full of essential aid and supplies and also purchase further aid once I am in the country or from neighbouring Poland. I have met some incredible, resolute people who provide food and medicine to those most in need. They also run food kitchens in several communities across Ukraine (including Kyiv, Kremenchuk, Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia) so children and the elderly can receive a hot meal. <div>I am currently in Ukraine and pay for that myself but I urgently require more financial donations so that I can purchase more food and medicine and also help the Ukrainian volunteers with the running costs of their activities.
