Hi Neighbors, Friends, and those who truly understand.
This is our journey our unexpected hurdle, that has left us where we are now...
I’m reaching out to our community because my disabled brother Matthew and I are in a tough spot and need a helping hand securing a reliable vehicle.
I am Matthew's full-time caregiver. Eight months ago, our car was totaled when I swerved to miss a couple of deer to protect him. Because we were moving at the exact same time, I had to use the insurance money to secure a roof over our heads instead of replacing the vehicle, because I will always put my brother's safety and well-being before anything else.
Losing my vehicle also meant losing my livelihood. I am a Walmart Spark delivery driver—a job I absolutely love because Matthew can ride shotgun right beside me. It keeps him by my side so he is never left alone, and it makes him feel like he is right there doing something important to help others, too. Together, we bring groceries to homebound elderly folks and anyone who can't always get out, providing a helping hand to those who need it most. I've worked every odd job possible to save up since the accident, but we keep hitting setbacks.
A reliable vehicle is the missing piece we need to get back on the road, manage Matthew's daily necessities, and continue serving those who depend on us.
The world is so stressful right now, but we can't let that stop us from showing genuine human decency. I am not asking for millions—just a community of hearts where a few dollars from one person, then the next, adds up to a miracle that gets us back on the road.
If you can, please consider donating a couple of dollars or sharing this post with someone who might. I am not one to normally put my business out to the public, but I am at a total loss as to what to do. If you can help or share this, it would mean the world to us.
Deeply appreciating every single one of you,
Christine & Matthew
