If you know Hannah and Dia, you probably already know how much their dog, Alfie, means to them. Unfortunately, their little family has hit a really tough patch, and this fundraiser is meant to help take some of the stress off their shoulders.
<br>
<br>
 Alfie recently broke his leg and needs surgery to get better. He has a radius and ulna fracture and needs an orthopedic surgeon to place tiny metal plates so he can heal properly. On top of the stress and worry of seeing their little guy hurt, the unexpected vet bills have created a pretty overwhelming financial burden.
<br>
<br>
 To make things even harder, Hannah is also recovering from a major surgery of her own. Instead of being able to focus on resting and recovering, Hannah and Dia now have the added worry of figuring out how to cover Alfie’s medical expenses. The total cost of care will be around $10K, and the hope is to raise a portion of that to give them a little breathing room during an already stressful time.
<br>
<br>
 Any donation, big or small, would mean so much to Hannah, Dia, and Alfie. If donating is not possible right now, sharing this fundraiser is just as appreciated. Thank you for helping show this little family some love and helping get Alfie back on his paws.

<div>November is Native American Heritage Month! It's a month to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements, cultures, and progress Native people have accomplished.

</div>
<div>One organization that has supported generations of Indigenous peoples and Seattleites as a whole is the Seattle Indian Center. The SIC provides Hot meals, a day center, new clothes, showers, housing, and more for the Seattle Community! When my family and I were younger, they had a Holiday Gift Drive program that supported us and dozens of other Native families in the Seattle area. Due to budget cuts, this program hasn't existed for over a decade.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For the past five years, though, thanks to you all, that has been changing!
</div>
<div>Every year since 2020, we have surpassed the previous year's fundraising.
</div>
<div>With more funding, we have expanded the number of families we work with and have been able to buy more expensive gifts that kids want! Additionally, we have partnered with other organizations and tribes to find families that would benefit from this program. We want to thank Mother Nation and the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe!

<div><br />
</div>
<div>We will be collecting donations until 12/15, and once again using GoFundMe to collect donations. I am happy to answer any questions along the way and will be posting updates about this fundraiser. If you know a family that may benefit, please have them contact me.

Holiday Fundraiser For Seattle Native Families

<div>November is Native american heritage month! for the past 4 years my family and i have organized a holiday gift drive in partnership with the Seattle Indian Center (SIC). The sic holds a special place for me, my family and thousands of people who use their facilities. the sic provides hot meals, a day center, showers, housing and more. Due to budget cuts years ago the SIC no longer formally hosts a holiday gift drive. For the past four years though, thanks to you all, that has been changing…

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Every year since 2020 we have surpassed the previous year of fundraising. With that more families have been able to be supported during the Holidays. Additionally we have been able to purchase more specific gifts for kids like brand name clothing, video games, cooking sets, makeup, and all the good stuff kids, tweens and teens want! I will be collecting donations until 12/15, and once again using go fund me to collect donations.
