Grateful for your love and light
Dear family and friends,
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your kind words, your loving memories of Nick, your compassion, and your generosity. Nick was laid to rest on 9/2/26 in the Sandia Mountains, near the place he grew up, explored, and loved.
These days have been heavy, yet his bright spirit continues to shine in a way that keeps the darkness from settling completely. Your support has been part of that light. Because of your donations, I was able to pay the funeral home expense without a stall and give Nick a peaceful, dignified burial without the weight of the initial financial worry.
I also want to share that the beautiful 100% walnut casket, handcrafted by Trappist Caskets, was shipped without requiring any payment upfront, allowing arrangements to continue without any delay. They extended a kindness I will never forget, trusting that the invoice could follow later. They also sent a beautiful note explaining that they will be planting a tree in their private monastic forest in Iowa as a living memorial for Nick. I have now received the invoice, and the cost of the casket, along with some remaining expenses outside of the funeral home, will be paid in part from Nick’s GoFundMe account.
I could not have done this for Nick without your help. I am deeply grateful for every donation that helped us honor Nick with dignity, light, and love. Know that your kindness has given me strength and space to grieve, remember, and honor Nick.
Nick’s love did not end with his passing; it lives on in the light he leaves us with and will continue to shine for all eternity.
Forever grateful,
Nick's mama,
Cecilia
