This fundraiser is being set up as part of a charity golf outing “Swing For Estella” in her honor, and our hope is to raise as much as possible to support Estella and her family through these times. $100 per Golfer $125 Hole Sponsorship $200 Gift Basket created in your Name $500 Long Drive & Longest Putt Sponsor $1000 Title Sponsor Estella's Story Below..!! ------------------------ Estella Jean Walker was born on Christmas Eve 2024 at just 26 weeks, weighing just 1lb 9oz. Although Estella was born 14 weeks prematurely, she was relatively healthy, eating & sleeping as a normal newborn should... However, after a few weeks, Mom (Tara) and Dad (Jason) were advised Estella needed a transfer to Children's Hospital to have a Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) valve surgically implanted to shunt the proper blood flow from her lungs to her heart. A successful surgery allowed our family the opportunity to transfer back to Good Samaritan Hospital to finish our journey to get bigger and stronger as time went on... Unfortunately Estella got pneumonia at just 40 days old and 6 days post-operation. For a star that now shines bright, Estella Jean was going through her darkest days at this very moment. Estella experienced multiple coding and bradycardia episodes in a short period of time. EJ was fighting for her life when a doctor suggested Neuromuscular Paralysis, a technique designed to paralyze a sick baby and allow the ventilator or in this case oscillator to do 100% of the breathing and respiratory efforts. Children's truly saved her life.. but it was not without risk and repercussion Estella's lungs were permanently damaged and diagnosed with Chronic Lung Disease (CLD) or Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia. A Tracheotomy was strongly suggested to prevent a lifetime of neurological & physical damage considering she was intubated for 100+ days and bed-ridden. On April 16th Estella was sedated and taken back for her tracheotomy surgery. Over the course of the next 6 months, Mom, Dad, Family & Friends spent countless hours bedside, at Ronald McDonald and traveling from our house to the hospital. A day wasn't missed, a meal wasn’t skipped and a round wasn’t forgot. 273 Days after Christmas Eve your little sunshine was cleared and released on September 23rd. A life lived between those 4 walls was no more. There was a time feeding tubes were recommended but Estella wanted to feed herself. There was a time 24/7 ventilation was required but Estella wanted to breathe on her own. There was a time she was confined to an incubator or a crib but Estella wanted to sit-up crawl and learn to walk like her siblings. But Estella has overcame it all..! Flash Forward to today & you would see that Estella still requires 16 hours of nursing but has since had her first Christmas & 1st Birthday at home surrounded by friends, family and supporters. Estella is currently learning how to crawl & walk. She is also eating plenty of baby food and having many bottles. EJ will even babble over her tracheostomy at times. Funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward the costs of Estella's hospitalization, continued medical care, therapies, travel, and the many other needs that come with her recovery. Your support means the world to us and will help Estella continue her fight. Thank you for being part of her
