<div>Hi all. If you don't know me, I'm Chandra Heidel. On Monday, October 6th, my life took the worst turn of my life. I started out my work day and got hit out of nowhere with shortness of breath and thought I was having a heart attack. I called my Mom and she rushed me to the Altoona ER where they spent over 14 hours running rigorous testing. I had been diagnosed with a pneumothorax which is very serious as it is between my heart and lung, on top of the other diagnosis, in the exact words of the doctor,  "a ton of liver cysts". I can barely breathe which makes it painful to eat, and it has caused me to lose weight and strength rapidly. I am currently in a hospital bed, emaciated, as I cannot make it up the steps to the bedroom. I have no income coming in right now as I had to suddenly quit work, and I was basically subcontracted as a driver for USPS. It has been so hard on my husband Brad, and I'm embarrassed to ask for help. I just set  the suggested goal by go fund me, but ANYTHING would help at this trying time. <div>The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau (HVAB) and the Chamber of Business &amp; Industry of Centre County (CBICC), on behalf of the Happy Valley Agventures initiative, have established a Go Fund me campaign for a local Amish family – Potter Township resident Esther Beiler and her children.

<div>Esther’s husband, Andy, and two teenage sons were killed in a tragic farming accident on Sept. 21, 2022. Six months earlier, another teenage son also died in an accident on the family farm.

<div>Esther has six remaining children, four of whom are still at home.

<div>This unimaginable tragedy has touched the staff of the HVAB and CBICC, and many in the community. Our Amish culture is a unique and important part of the fabric of Centre County’s rich agricultural heritage. We value our Amish neighbors, and wish to extend more than our sympathies to Esther and her children in this difficult time of need.

<div>Happy Valley Agventures provided $5,000 in seed money for the fundraising campaign. The HVAB and CBICC are encouraging the community to help complete a fundraising goal of $20,000 for the Beiler family.

<div>On Thursday, March 24, five-year-old Joanna (Jojo) Walk passed away from an accident on the family farm. Her parents, Isaac and Kasie Walk, are devastated. Jojo's funeral was on Tuesday, March 29th, with nearly 400 people attending. Jojo was the oldest of three children and an absolute joy to know.

<div>We know the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Ps. 34:18). Jojo was raised in a faith-filled home as Isaac, Kasie, and members of their extended family are faithful followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. The family affirms Jojo's step into eternity with Christ; however, the pain of the relational separation is severe.

Isaac is self-employed in farming, and Kasie is employed by Berger Rental Communities. Both will take extended time off to care for their two younger children and work through their grief together. <div>My name is Jamie Pastorello. Many of you may recognize Rhea Holmes and I from a photo taken in Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse, New York, on the cold morning of December 13th, 2025.

<div>That morning, I saw Rhea walking through a park with a box of food balanced on her head. I offered her a ride. I didn't know at the time but Rhea was on her way to a cemetery. A place she would often go to visit her husband and father who she recently lost, she said. Rhea didn't say at the time but she was experiencing homelessness. At night, she was resting her head in that cemetery.

<div>Rhea’s life changed after profound loss and grief reshaped everything she knew. That grief ultimately cost her everything.

<div>Despite all she has endured, Rhea carries an incredible amount of empathy, compassion, and love. She is kind, and deeply human. In just a brief encounter, she reminded me of the strength that exists in people who are often unseen.
