Marri is my best friend and has been by my side through some of the hardest moments in my life, including the loss of my dad in 2019 and my brother Michael three years later, as well as my three surgeries the past couple years. She’s more than just my dog — she’s family, and her companionship has brought me comfort and hope when I needed it most. I’ve been fortunate enough to have two wonderful Dalmatians before her but she’s the best girl I’ve ever had. She’s smart and funny and loves to give ear kisses to anyone who will allow it.
After a few days of watching Marri not feel well, her wonderful vet clinic was able to get her in for an appointment right away. Initially we thought it could be a case of pancreatitis but blood work revealed kidney issues. She has decreased kidney function/kidney damage. The next critical step is an ultrasound of her kidneys and a consultation with an internist. Her records have been sent to VCA and Vista in Sacramento - whichever has the first appointment is the one I’ll take her to. I’m deeply concerned about this unexpected emergency and want to make sure she gets the best care possible. The costs for these procedures, consultations, and any additional diagnostics or lab work are more than I can manage alone.
Any support, whether through donations or sharing Marri’s story, would mean the world to both of us. Your kindness will help give Marri the care she needs and keep her by my side. Thank you for reading and for considering helping us during this difficult time.
