A New Tipi for The Lion's Den — Help Us Raise It Dear Friends, Hikers, and Fellow Trail Angels, If you've ever passed through The Lion's Den, you probably remember the tipi — a cozy spot where tired hikers dropped their packs and rested up. But after years of weather and this winter's flooding at The Lion's Den, our tipi has reached its end. Fellow trail angels who also work with tipis have started this GoFundMe to help us raise a proper new one. We've found the perfect replacement — a 16-foot-diameter tipi from Nomadics Tipi Makers in Bend, Oregon, for $1,500. How You Can Help: Share the Go Fund Me link. With gratitude and trail dust, Mary FYI: The PCTipi fundraiser is an endeavor to create shelter from the storm along the Pacific Crest Trail. By implementing a series of structures, huts, and tipis at both the north and south terminus, and to create a set of tipis to be used by through hikers in any given year. The Section A corridor has a tipi based at the PCT Angels Rest near Alpine, CA, and the soon to be final tipi at the Lions Den near Mazama. They’ve had a tipi there for 14 years; however, it needs to be replaced due to the tremendous damage it sustained in a late winter storm, which diverted an overflow of the river down through their encampment. We are starting this GoFundMe in order to help kickstart the effort to have a quality tipi at the Lion’s Den for all hikers to enjoy.
