Hello friends! Yesterday Ed was able to have all of his stitches removed!! Sweet relief! He also met with the next surgeon that will perform a "piggyback nerve" procedure to keep his hand/ fingers from atrophy. That should happen in about a month. Frustrating news was his disability claim was denied but we are going to appeal with a disability lawyers help. On the best news, Ed got to walk our baby girl down the aisle!!!! There was not a dry eye that day! We are all so blessed that he was able to have that moment with Hannah♥️ Again, thank you to everyone who has sent love, support and prayers. Journeys are better together ♥️
We meet with the surgeon at Lahey Hospital, Burlington Ma every two weeks right now. It's a lot of driving and it's really a lot on Ed. The surgeon was very clear that Ed is 14 months out at least for just basic nerve regeneration . And we did have to go to the emergency room this week because his incisions got cellulitis. Vascular surgery is happy with the blood flow so that is a good thing. Plastic is ready to refer him to a hand surgeon to try to get his hand back to working order.. I hate to ask, we have about eight months of mortgage payments right now because of your generosity. I think we might need a tiny bit more.. and you know me I hate freaking asking. But I don't want to lose my house and I need Ed to stay here. I don't need or want much from anybody maybe just a little bit to get us over the finish line because if Ed doesn't have a house he can't heal. I love everybody so much. I can't even tell you how much. Thank you so much.
