My name is Candace, and I am reaching out for help as I face a major health challenge. I need to have surgery in Salt Lake City, Utah, to rebuild my ureter—the tube that connects my kidney to my bladder. Unfortunately, my ureter has become scarred closed due to a history of infections, kidney stones, and stents. Because of this, I currently have a nephrostomy tube coming out of my right kidney. This makes daily life difficult, as I can't fully shower or get the site wet, I get infections biweekly and often get sepsis, I deeply miss being able to swim and play in the water with my grandchildren.
This surgery is my chance to regain my independence and return to the activities I love. However, living in Great Falls, Montana, means I will need to travel a long distance to Salt Lake City for the procedure. The costs of surgery, travel, and recovery are overwhelming, and I am unable to manage them on my own.
Any support you can offer would mean the world to me. Your generosity will help cover the expenses of surgery and travel, bringing me one step closer to healing and enjoying precious moments with my family again. Thank you for considering a donation and for being part of my journey to better health. Surgery is scheduled for August 14th 2026
