<div>Bear is a sweet, gentle dog who has already suffered more than any animal ever should. He was neglected, starved, possibly abused, and then heartlessly dumped on the street. Now he has ended up at a kill shelter with less than 24 hours to live.

<div>As if that isn’t devastating enough, Bear has been diagnosed with leptospirosis - a deadly but treatable disease. Without immediate medical intervention, he will not survive. He must be transported to an emergency hospital right away, and his treatment is expected to cost thousands of dollars.

<div>We have set up this GoFundMe in the hope of raising funds to support our dear friend Mairead and her family during an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time.

<div>Mairead’s son, Aaron Mulligan, like so many young people from Ireland, moved to Australia a few years ago to begin a new chapter in his life. Tragically, Aaron was recently involved in a very serious road traffic accident and has suffered a severe brain injury that is not compatible with life. He is currently in critical condition in Royal Perth Hospital. Doctors are doing everything they can to keep him alive until his mum can reach him.

<div>Mairead and her family now urgently need to travel from Ireland to Australia, flying through Doha in the Middle East, to be by Aaron’s side. This emergency journey comes with enormous and unexpected costs — last-minute flights, accommodation in Australia, and other expenses while they remain there supporting Aaron.

<div>As Mairead’s friends, we wanted to do something to help ease the financial pressure on the family so they can focus on what truly matters — being with Aaron during this critical time.

<div>Am 10. Januar wurde die kleine Ella (3 Jahre) aus Binsfeld in der Eifel wegen einer vermeintlichen Lungenentzündung ins Krankenhaus gebracht. Doch schon einen Tag später verschlechterte sich ihr Zustand so stark, dass sie auf die Intensivstation nach Trier verlegt werden musste.

<div>Die Situation wurde immer ernster – so ernst, dass Ella bereits am 12. Januar mit dem Hubschrauber nach Heidelberg geflogen werden musste.
</div>

</div>
<div>Am 13. Januar kam schließlich die Diagnose, die das Leben der Familie von einem Moment auf den anderen veränderte:

</div>
<div>Durch einen seltenen Gendefekt wurden ein Tumor in der Lunge und ein weiterer Tumor in der Niere entdeckt.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Seit diesem Tag kämpft Ella – mit einer Stärke, die man bei einem so kleinen Menschen kaum fassen kann.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Mehrere Operationen hat sie bereits hinter sich. Drei Eingriffe hat diese kleine Kämpferin schon überstanden. Doch die wichtigste und größte Operation steht noch bevor. Die Behandlung wird voraussichtlich noch bis Juni oder Juli andauern – in der Hoffnung, den Krebs zu besiegen.

<div>Für Ellas Eltern gibt es in dieser Zeit nur einen Wunsch:

<div>Ellas Vater arbeitet selbst als Rettungssanitäter und ist es gewohnt, anderen Menschen in schweren Situationen zu helfen. Jetzt ist es seine eigene Tochter, die kämpft.

<div><strong>Damit beide während der langen Behandlung bei Ella in Heidelberg bleiben können, entstehen der Familie zusätzliche Kosten für Unterkunft, Fahrten und den Alltag vor Ort. Allein die Unterkunft (Jugendherberge, Klinikunterkunft oder Hotel) kostet je nach Möglichkeit zwischen 1.200 € und 2.500 € pro Monat, während zu Hause weiterhin alle laufenden Kosten bestehen bleiben.</strong>

<div>Leider hat die Familie zusätzlich ein weiterer schwerer Schicksalsschlag getroffen:

<div><strong>Bei Ellas Großvater wurde im Rahmen seiner Krebsbehandlung das Endstadium diagnostiziert. Dadurch muss ein Elternteil regelmäßig pendeln, um auch dort da sein zu können.</strong>

<div>Als Freunde der Familie und Ellas Paten möchten wir, Julia und Jeff, in dieser schweren Zeit unterstützen. Durch die Idee einer guten Freundin der Familie, haben wir diese Spendenaktion gestartet.

<div>Just one year ago, J'Naii and her family lost everything when their home was destroyed in the Eaton Fires. The fire took their house, their belongings, and the stability they had worked so hard to build.

<div>In order to survive, the family even had to sell their car, sacrificing one of the few things they had left just to get by.

<div>But while they were still trying to rebuild their lives, another unimaginable tragedy struck.

<div>J'Naii was diagnosed with brain cancer.

<div>For the past year, J'Naii has been courageously battling this devastating disease. Between hospital visits, treatments, and constant medical care, the financial burden has become overwhelming for the family.

<div>The family is now three months behind on rent and facing eviction, putting them at serious risk of becoming homeless while J'Naii is still fighting for her life.
