In recent weeks, we’ve seen countless fundraisers pop up for people who lost their jobs because they celebrated the death of Charlie Kirk. Those individuals lost employment due to their own vile, hateful, and mocking remarks about an innocent man’s assassination. My situation is the opposite. I did not lose my job because of anything I said or did — I was swept up in a round of mass layoffs, a lottery-style downsizing completely outside my control. I’ve been living off my savings while urgently applying to new roles, but despite my best efforts, I have not yet secured work. My savings are nearly depleted, and I’m reaching the point where I cannot cover basic living costs and bills. Every dollar donated will go directly to keeping me afloat while I continue my job search. If the generosity of others exceeds my immediate needs, I will put those excess funds toward supporting activism and causes that carry forward Charlie Kirk’s mission.
