Help Me Get My License Back and Move Forward After more than 20 years of dealing with the consequences of my past, I finally reached a milestone I honestly wasn’t sure I’d ever see: my criminal record was recently sealed. That was a huge moment for me. I’ve spent years working to put that part of my life behind me and build something better. I’m working now and doing everything I can to get myself back on track. But there’s still one major obstacle in front of me: getting my Massachusetts driver’s license back. I currently owe approximately $5,400 in outstanding obligations that have to be paid before I can get my license reinstated. I don’t have $5,400 sitting around, and trying to come up with that amount while also paying for everyday life has been extremely difficult. A driver’s license isn’t just about driving for me. It would open up more job opportunities, make getting to work much easier, and give me the independence I need to keep building a stable life. I’ve already spent years doing the hard part — changing my life, working, dealing with my past, and finally getting my record sealed. Now I just need a little help getting over this last major hurdle. I’m not asking anyone to fix my life for me. I’m asking for a hand getting to the next part of it.
