Hi everyone Butters had his follow up appointment with Dr. B at AAA Hospital a few days ago, his diagnosis came back clear of cancers (skin and kidney) but he is showing all signs of chronic atopic dermatitis on top of his prior ailments, so we will be continuing his prescribed steroid, a different antibiotic (injections), and he will be on bi-monthly Bravecto plus from now on (parasiticide) so he’ll be rocking his cone a bit longer until after the first treatment. The vet mentioned he is more susceptible to skin allergy flare ups and bacterial infections at the moment due to his very low immunity so we will also be putting him on immune support supplements and continuing his new probiotics as well to hopefully get his skin and fur closer to normal again. Hi everyone, my name is Grace. I’m reaching out because our family cat Butters really needs help and my family is currently drowning in vet bills. A couple of years ago, my brother rescued Butters out of Pomona, California and was luckily able to give him a safe and loving home. He has become a very important part of my family and we can’t imagine a life without him. Over the past year, Butters’ health has taken a really difficult turn and he’s been struggling with severe allergies, food and heat sensitivities. We’ve been making very frequent trips to the vet, trying different medications (oral and topical), prescription food and just doing what we can to make him comfortable til we figure out exactly what’s wrong. Despite the amount of appointments and medication, we still haven’t got a clear, real diagnosis. It is at the point he needs additional testing, likely specialist care, & probably different medications. Along with living expenses, necessities, & bills I have completely exhausted all of my possible options as far as finances go at the moment I simply just can’t afford all of what he needs. Asking for help is not easy, but Butters didn’t ask for the cards he was dealt and his discomfort is much larger than mine in doing it.
