Our family is heartbroken to share the passing of my father, Ronald Wayne Jaggers. Dad was first discharged from the hospital on June 4, 2026, with a diagnosis of gastritis and duodenitis. The medications prescribed weren't helping, and despite continuing to complain of severe stomach pain, he wasn't able to see a GI specialist until August or his primary care physician until June 16. On Wednesday evening, Dad asked me to take him back to the Emergency Room. I dropped him off, and they brought him inside in a wheelchair. Before I left, I gave him a big kiss and told him I'd check on him in a little while and be back the next day. When I called the hospital around 1:30-2:00 a.m. to check on him, everything had changed. Dad had been diagnosed with acute respiratory failure, pneumonia, and sepsis. His condition rapidly declined. Within the following days, he required intensive life support measures, including dialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy, as multiple organs began to fail. My brother, Derek, traveled to be with us, and as we were on our way to see Dad, we received the devastating call that his heart had stopped and CPR had been initiated. Despite every effort made to save him, our Dad passed away following a full code on June 13, 2026, at 3:33 a.m. Ronald Wayne Jaggers was born on September 3, 1953, and spent his life loving his family. He was the first man I ever loved, my protector, my teacher, and my Dad. The pain of losing him so suddenly is indescribable. We are asking for help with funeral expenses and the unexpected costs that come with laying a loved one to rest. If you are able to donate, no amount is too small, and if you cannot give financially, we would be grateful if you would share this fundraiser and keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for helping us.
