Support Kaley's Fight Against Colon Cancer

Jeff is raising this fundraiser for <strong>Zach and Britt Schelhaas</strong> and their sons, <strong>Preston and Ashton</strong>, after the heartbreaking loss of Levi. On Tuesday night, Levi was riding his dirt bike with his younger brother Ashton at their private track at home. While Zach was helping Ashton with his bike, Levi went out for what became his final lap. A tragic accident happened on one of the jumps, and Zach and Ashton found him moments later. Levi was airlifted to North Memorial, and everyone was holding onto hope that he would receive the medical care he needed. Devastatingly, the family soon learned that Levi had suffered a significant head injury and had no brain activity. He also had a broken shoulder and a collapsed lung. This unimaginable loss has changed the Schelhaas family forever.

 The funds raised will help Zach, Britt, Preston, and Ashton with funeral expenses, medical bills, and everyday needs like meals and household bills as they try to navigate the days ahead and grieve the loss of Levi. <div>	Katie Sullivan is the beautiful and faithful wife of Brad Sullivan.  They are the parents of seven, lovely daughters: Emily, Claire, Marie, Delaney, Hazel, Grace and Rose.  Katie loves motherhood and has embraced the joys of homeschooling her children.  She has been courageously battling cancer since 2018. Her witness of trust has brought many friends closer to Jesus.  She has leaned on him through significant suffering.  Many of us refer to her as the “Silent Sufferer” because of her humble and joyful disposition despite the hardships she endures.  Katie does not let this suffering go to waste.  She is always offering it up for others.  Katie is currently at home being cared for by her loving husband, mother and daughters along with the guidance of hospice care.

Help the Sullivan Family Through Katie's Illness

<div>Late evening on Tuesday, January 30th, Evan Kirkland, a senior at Mounds View High School suffered a grand mal seizure. He was rushed to St. John's Hospital in critical condition. Upon reaching the ER, it was found that Evan had a 105 degree fever, severe brain swelling, as well as three extremely rare blood infections; viral and bacterial meningitis and encephalitis. Had Evan not suffered a grand mal seizure when he did, it is likely the consequences would have been very dire.

<div>In an attempt to reduce the brain swelling, caused by the infections, Evan was administered strong anti-biotic and anti-viral intravenous medicine for two weeks, bedridden in the hospital. Evan underwent an MRI in which abnormalities were found in his brain due to the swelling and infections, which had managed to cross his blood-brain barrier. Currently, Evan has a surgically implanted PICC line and continues to receive anti-biotic and anti-viral intravenous medicine at home. After finishing this round of anti-biotics and anti-virals Evan will go on to receive an MRI to see if there has been any improvements in the brain abnormalities and swelling. From there, doctors will determine further treatment plans as some with Evan's condition must be on strong anti-biotics/virals for up to a year. In the progression of this illness, Evan has lost 50 pounds.

<div>Along with this, Evan's six IV's a day, home health care, outpatient MRI's, other supplemental medications, his entire neuro-hospital stay, and multiple doctors appointments a week, are not paid by insurance. Michelle, Evan's mom, is a single mother with no other source of income. And, along with these expenses has had to miss great portions of work.

<div>Evan, a talented athlete known for competing in state as well as being among the top in the state for hurdles, is no longer able to compete in collegiate track and has had to forfeit his senior track season due to these severe circumstances. Additionally, Evan will be unable to return to school for his senior year.

Evan Kirkland's Medical and Recovery Expenses

<p>Wednesday night as my mom (Pauline), aged 77 and my dad (Bob), aged 79, were driving home from a vacation in Utah, the van they were traveling in was hit from behind on Interstate Highway 80 by a semi-truck.  My dad was thrown from the van by the impact, which resulted in 2 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and fluid build-up around his lungs.  My mother also had injuries to her lungs but more concerning, she currently has no feeling below her bellybutton.
</p>

<p>They were airlifted to the University of Utah hospital in Salt Lake City. Both my mom and dad are considered in stable condition. My mother was taken into surgery on Thursday afternoon to attempt to repair the injury to her back.  What complicates this is that she has had extensive back surgeries in the past and has had many levels of her spine fused.  She is also a breast cancer survivor in which she had to go through chemotherapy and a double mastectomy in the past. <br /><br />We will not be able to go see them for the next 5 days because of the Covid protocols at their hospital.  Once we are allowed to see them, my siblings and I will be rotating trips out to Utah until my mom and dad are able to come back closer to Chatfield, although it sounds like my mother will be going through an extensive recovery period.<br /><br />We ask for any help you can give to offset the medical costs for Bob and Pauline, as well as the costs that they will incur to travel back home and any structural changes to their home that may need to occur because of mom's injuries and the extent of her recovery.  <strong>YOUR PRAYERS AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS ARE ALSO VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.</strong><br /><br />Thank you for your time and God bless.<br /><br />Dawn, Terry, Nichole, Chris and Nick Schriever

On Sunday June 21st, Cody C. Pollard (CodyLoc) was murdered in a senseless act of violence and lost his beautiful life. <br /><br />Cody was an amazing father,  Fiance, and and major pillar of his community,  many people mourning his death refer to him as "brother" because of how loved he made many feel. He was a prominent local Barber in the Twin Cities area, popularizing his tag "CutsByCody" Many are hurting at this time, please donate what you can to ensure this family, receives all love from the community that we can.  This was a father who deserved a great father's day, let's show how our community can help his children in any way.
