<div>As many of you know, I have a rare medical condition that causes progressive scarring of the lungs. I was diagnosed with <strong>Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis</strong> in 2018 and have been fairly stable. The statistics I researched gave a 3-5 year life expectancy for the condition so I'm thrilled to still be here over 6 years later! I am currently on the waitlist to receive a double lung transplant at the University of Minnesota Fairview Health in Minneapolis. I'm beyond grateful for the second chance this selfless gift will provide.

<div>Hi, I'm Gianna and I'm raising money for my grandpa Joe Salvaggio that has been in the Florida news lately. My grandpa's house in Fort Myers Beach Florida got destroyed in Hurricane Ian after his wife of many years lost her battle with Alzheimer's. After Hurricane Ian my grandpa also lost a very dear friend to him and after all that he had the nightmare of rebuilding his life ahead of him at 84 years old. My grandpa gave his contractor $40,000 and for months the contractor has made little progress. My grandpa loved his home in Florida. He loved to tend to his garden, drive his boat, and enjoy the multiple fountains and fish ponds that he set up on his own. Since Ian, however, he has been staying in a trailer in the driveway of the shell that used to be his home.

<div>Hello everyone, my name is Darleen Glenn’s daughter. My family &amp; I are devastated with the tragic loss of our father. He was truly such an amazing person, all about his family. He always found time to call everyone to check on them &amp; let them know he was thinking of them. He was such a loving father &amp; grandfather, it’s been so hard trying to come to terms with him leaving us so soon.  Never in my life would I think I’d be having to do this, especially during the holidays. We are in need of help with the unexpected expenses for his memorial &amp; funeral. I’ve never had to do something like this &amp; it breaks my heart to have to do it now but this is all so sudden. I know the holidays are around the corner &amp; times are hard, but anything truly helps. Even if it’s just a share or repost. Jeff Rosati Male Breast Cancer Benefit

One year ago, our mom’s life completely changed. While at the doctor’s office for a checkup, her oxygen levels were in the 50’s. They immediately took her to the ER by ambulance, where her oxygen then dropped down to 46. After a week in the hospital, she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a progressive disease where the lungs turn into scar tissue. The form of this disease that she has is caused by environmental things such as aerosols, asbestos, pesticides, fertilizers, etc. She was sent home with an oxygen tank she uses 24/7. Things that are easy for us to do, like shower, wash dishes, and run the vacuum are extremely difficult for her to do now.<br /> <br />Pulmonary Fibrosis has a 3-5-year life expectancy after diagnosis. Her doctors said they had seen something in 2016, but because they were not looking for anything in her lungs, they did not explore any more into it.<br /> <br />A year later, the only option available to survive this terrible disease is with a double lung transplant. She is currently undergoing transplant evaluations at Cleveland Clinic. Once she has the surgery, she is expected to relocate to Cleveland temporarily for several months so she can be closely monitored. After the surgery, she will be in the hospital for 2-3 weeks and will then live an additional 6-8 weeks in Cleveland. After she is able to go back home, she will still have to travel every 3 months for 2-3 days at a time for testing and checkups to make sure her new lungs are functioning properly.<br /> <br />To be placed on the transplant list, she will need to secure $10,000.00 for traveling, meals, and lodging, and any additional medical charges that she will incur during this process. We are asking for your donations to help fund her transplant. Any amount you give will put us that much closer to our goal. She has 5 beautiful grandchildren, 2 daughter’s and their husbands, family, and many friends that she wants to survive this for. Emma's Lung Transplant Fund

Phil was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Through no fault of his own, his lungs are failing him despite his extremely healthy lifestyle and zest for life. Phil is extremely intelligent, hysterically funny and kind, generous soul. For Phil to continue to "fall through the cracks" simply due to lack of funding, would be a tragedy for all who know him, and for the strangers he helps on a daily basis. Phil has so much life left and so much more to contribute to this world. <br /><br />Now that he is a slave to the tether which supplies him 15 liters of oxygen just to stay alive, Phil spends his time researching and corresponding with patients like himself all over the country. In addition to providing and receiving moral support that keep himself and patients like him from succumbing to the depression and hopelessness that many face.<br /><br />Phil has helped others come to terms with this disease. This includes advocating for better care from their doctors, many of whom are themselves unfamiliar with this rare disease. Helping them explain to family and friends how poorly they feel, since many, Phil included, don't "look" sick; or "look" like they have a fatal disease. He tries to be their cheerleader in dealing with their devastating diagnosis, and the steady debilitation that follows, all the while fighting these issues himself.<br /><br />Phil does have insurance, which would cover the actual transplant, God willing, BUT he doesn't have the funds to even get on the list for the life saving organ he desperately needs. What most don't know, is that before one can be placed on "the list" they must pay out of pocket to get to a hospital that will accept them for testing (approx 4-6 weeks). During this time, Phil will have to pay for lodging, food, transportation, and standard living costs JUST to be considered for the life saving organ(s). <br /><br />Further, he must take an unpaid caregiver and financially support that person. Once he's approved and gets the lung(s) he will need to stay for at minimum 6 months, with the same out of pocket expenses, to make certain he is within a few minutes of the transplant hospital in case of body rejection or any minute infection that could take his life. These fees aren't covered by insurance, and that's while PHIL NEEDS YOU!!!<br /><br />Phil does not have reliable transportation to get himself and his caregiver to a life saving hospital. He also has his best friend, Dutch, a special needs Dutch Shepherd, who will need to be re-homed or cared for during Phil's ordeal. With Dutch being an elder dog, euthanasia is a sad fate he could face. Extra funds raised will help Phil get the life saving treatments he needs without having to give up his best friend, and his protector. <br /><br />If Phil can get the donations he needs to SAVE HIS LIFE, he vows to spend his life and any time left, to pay it forward. His hope is to SAVE HIS own life so that he can make it easier for others in need of life saving organs. His goal would be to start a charity to help both patients and their unpaid caregivers receive low cost or completely sponsored accommodations while going through the grueling process of applying, qualifying and receiving the lifesaving organs they need.<br /><br />Please, even if it's just a few dollars, help me help Phil. This wonderful man has so much left to do in this life! I feel honored to know Phil and pray that his story will touch your heart as much as it has mine. <br /><br />Thank you for taking the time to read a tiny snippet of Phil's story.
