<div>Our dear friend Dwayne Washington aka Diz recently experienced a dire medical emergency which led to acute kidney failure. Currently he is undergoing dialysis treatments every other day while still in the hospital. He is patiently waiting to be cleared for outpatient care. Although his recuperation has been miraculous so far, the road to a full recovery will be ongoing for the foreseeable future. During this time he will be unable to work while he focuses on healing. Any help to cover expenses will be greatly appreciated. He is extremely grateful for your thoughts, prayers and well wishes. <div>Aloha, my name is Daniel Lopez. On August 8th, 2023 I was blessed to have escaped the Lahaina wildfires with my girlfriend and her two cats. Lahaina is our home and we want to give back to our community as much as they’ve given back to us. As an owner of a successful food truck on the mainland, I feel bringing my truck to Maui is the way I can best contribute.

<div>Unfortunately, like most residents of Lahaina, we lost our home and all of our belongings to the fire. As we rebuild our lives, we would love to feed the first responders and displaced residents of our community; however, we are at a financial dead end.

<div>Once the food truck is established we would like to be able to serve 5,000 free tacos to Lahaina residents and anyone else in need at a 100% donation based rate.

<div>Initially, funds that are raised will be used for start up costs- shipping from California, permits to legally open and serve food, product, etc. I would like to get the truck open and running in Maui as soon as possible. Ideally, we would love to raise enough donations to feed the people of Lahaina until our community is restored.

<div>Hi everyone, my name is Elina Grinberg. For many people the war in Ukraine has passed because they do not see it on social media anymore, but the threat is still there and only getting worse. My family is from Dnipro, a city about 300 miles southeast of the Ukrainian capital.  <br /><br />Although my immediate family is safe here in the United States we have to deal with the heartbreak and struggle of watching  the rest of our family suffer in Ukraine. My 74 year old grandmother is all alone using her cold basement as a bunker with no one to help if something happens to her. The closest family to my grandmother in Dnipro are my aunt, uncle, and cousin seven hours away in the capital and they aren’t able to get to each other.<br /><br />Power to their homes is no longer stable and stores have next to no food or supplies. They have all been advised to stay indoors as their cities are frequently being bombed and there is possibility of capture.  When the war started my uncle was working for Whirlpool who supplied a company vehicle to all of their employees, but as soon as the war began they quickly pulled all their company vehicles out of the country leaving my uncle with no vehicle. My family has no way to get together or escape on top of having no jobs. <br /><br />They are quickly running out of food, supplies, and money as nobody can work or receive pension. This war is not over so this has yet to include the extent of damages that will still come from it. Unfortunately, there is no way to get care packages directly to them so money is what would be best to send them for aid. I understand that money is tight for most of us right now but this is a very real situation and anything helps.<br /><br />For my family in Ukraine every dollar would help as news stories that you see have a very real impact on their life. So I’m asking you as my friends if you’re able, please help as this could very easily be any one of us someday. <br /><br />&lt;3

One of my good friends was struck by a vehicle while he was riding his motorcycle. He was out of work for months as a tattoo artist an now that he finally got to start working again this happened. I would like to help with his hospital bills .

Jennifer was one of the most inspiring people you could ever meet. She has made a huge impact on my life, even though for the entire time we have been friends with her, she has been battling cancer. She now passed away, and I know she would appreciate any assistance for her grieving family.<br />First, she had breast cancer and was in remission, but three years ago her cancer came back, and it was now metastatic (stage 4) terminal cancer. She has been fighting very hard, and it seems she is in her last days of this terrible fight. All through this, she fought very hard, loved her children and kept working and going for another college degree.<br />There are and will be several final expenses for her family to deal with, and although prayers are important and appreciated, I ask that you consider giving.  Any amount will help and they will appreciate it very much. <strong>A Plea for Malarie </strong><br /><br />Malarie has been struggling with severe illnesses for many years and I have watched her remain courageous, strong, and full of faith. She is so giving of herself and not the type of person to ever ask for something in return.  Throughout her life I have witnessed her work to help everyone else before she attempts to help herself.  Life has now come to a point where we must humbly ask for help, as her health is deteriorating and the emotional and financial stress has become too much for us to keep just within the family. <br /><br />Symptoms began at age of 12 and chronic illness consumed her life in her early 20’s when she became bed-ridden for many days and barely able to walk or physically and mentally function most of the time. <br /><br />During this stage of life, she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis throughout each section of her spine, severe neuropathy in both legs, chronic migraines that would haunt her 2-5 days a week, degenerative disc syndrome, slipped discs in her neck and lower back that were pressing on nerve roots, and many chronic infections in her throat, bladder and kidneys.  <br /><br />After countless ER visits, too many doctors to count, innumerable prescriptions and treatments she still had not recovered because during these years they still had not discovered the underlying health issues that are causing this attack on her body. We watched the disease take out the best years of her twenties, and we thank God that it went into remission for a few years in her later twenties. <br /><br />Now at the age of 32, all of these symptoms related to this crippling disease have returned.  She has put her education, dance ministry, career, and relationships on hold.  She was forced to go out on a leave of disability in February and the company she worked for has since denied her disability and fired her, causing her to lose not only her income but her health coverage as well.  Everyday is a fight to get out of pain and get through the day.  The migraines are so intense that it feels like bones are being crushed in her face and skull, painful lumps have formed throughout her head. Neurological issues have caused immense pain and severe memory loss.  The pressure is great and the anxiety is overwhelming.<br /><br />Intense research and doctor visits over the last year and a half led us to new discoveries with her health issues.  <strong>She has now been diagnosed with the following as root causes of her illnesses:</strong><br /><br /><strong>-          A severe fungal infection throughout her body</strong><br /><strong>-          Post/Chronic Lyme Disease – late stage</strong><br /><strong>-          CIRS – Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, from exposure to toxic black mold</strong><br /><strong>-          Bartonella </strong><br /><strong>-          Babesiosis </strong><br /><br />Her fiancé has continued to support her both emotionally and financially but her care is extremely expensive and has drained them both financially. <br /><br />She has been working with an Integrative Health MD of out of state who specializes in these types of illnesses.  Treatment has gotten extremely hard to manage at home.  Due to the nature of the disease and her weakened immune system the protocol is extremely expensive with large amounts of out of pocket costs for vitamins, supplements and antibiotics necessary to keep her stable.  We have since found a treatment center called Sponaugle Wellness Institute in Florida that works with patients who are suffering from late stage Lyme and mold illness.  We are working to raise the funds to get her there!  <a href="http://www.sponauglewellness.com">www.sponauglewellness.com</a>    <br /><br />After visiting the facility and speaking with the director, total treatment time for her case is 5-6 months.  Initial testing is $4500, plus $1000 deposit, and a weekly treatment price of $3000 that includes most of her IV medications, and daily nursing evaluations and doctor visits.  Some of the initial tests may possibly be reimbursed using insurance (with no guarantee), but the clinic advised that the total cost out of pocket will be more than $75,000, not including cost of living out of state, travelling, or additional tests or meds that are needed.  We are setting our goal at $90,000 to cover treatment costs.<br /><br />Malarie has been documenting her experience to the best of her ability and is planning on publishing a book that talks about her journey.  We have very high hopes that this book will help many others find answers to their chronic health issues and boost their faith to keep fighting.
