<div>Devon "Mr Metro" Martin was Iconic to the music scene in Canada for most of his life. He made his little town of Malton know on the main stage and its time we pay homage to his legacy.
</div>
<div>Devon, A Father of five children passed away suddenly last week and has left many of us in shock and disbelief. It has taken me a long time to come to grips with his passing because we spent extensive time together earlier this month along with our other siblings, nieces and nephews......and perhaps it was his way of saying good bye.
</div>
<div>Our hope is to have his celebration of life on Saturday August 24th 10:00am at the National Event Venue 1000 Finch ave.
</div>

This Black History Month, we are proud to host a special fundraiser titled “Reflections of Vancouver’s Black History.”

<div>This intimate gathering is more than an event—it is a moment of recognition, remembrance, and renewal. We are coming together to honour the Black and Afro-diasporic artists, elders, organizers, and cultural storytellers whose creativity and leadership helped shape Vancouver’s cultural landscape, often without recognition or resources.

<div>This fundraiser directly supports FTBE’s year-round community programming, including Black Music Month (June), the Vancouver Black Independent Film Festival (October), and our growing Black Book Festival. These initiatives provide paid opportunities, platforms, and visibility for Black artists who are too often excluded from mainstream systems.
