The skyrocketing cost of living has pushed hard-working local families to the brink. No one should have to sit in the dark or worry about their utilities being cut off just to survive. That’s why we are raising funds for Keep the Lights On. What is "Keep the Lights On"? Keep the Lights On is a local grassroots initiative in Medicine Hat dedicated to providing immediate, emergency financial relief to families drowning in unpaid utility bills and basic living costs. We don’t believe in red tape or making people jump through hoops when they are in crisis. When a local family is facing a disconnection notice or can't afford their next bill, we step in to pay it directly, ensuring they stay safe, warm, and secure in their homes. How Your Donation Helps Every single dollar raised goes directly toward relieving the burden of unpaid bills for Medicine Hat residents. Here is a look at what your generosity can do: $50 can help cover a shortfall on a monthly water or gas bill. $150 can prevent a family's electricity from being disconnected. $300+ can completely wipe out an overdue utility arrears balance, giving a stressed-out parent a fresh start and room to breathe.
