I recently moved my family to San Antonio, Texas, after being told there would be more housing assistance and resources available to help us get back on our feet. Unfortunately, after arriving, I learned that the rehousing assistance program I was counting on does not currently serve the area where I am staying. After applying, I received notice that my address falls within "Zone 0," an area that is not being serviced at this time. As a result, my family is facing an eviction on June 23, 2026. I am a mother of four children, and despite my best efforts, I have not yet been able to secure the resources needed to move into stable housing. I have been actively applying for jobs and attending multiple interviews. I am also waiting for responses from government assistance programs. Even if I receive a job offer tomorrow, I will not have enough time to earn the money needed for moving expenses, deposits, and the costs associated with securing an apartment before our eviction date. The funds raised will help cover a security deposit for an apartment, first month's rent, moving expenses, utility connection fees, and basic household necessities for my children. Every donation, no matter the amount, will bring us one step closer to stable housing and a fresh start.
