<div>Wildfires have devastated tens of thousands of acres in the Los Angeles area, destroying homes and schools, disrupting learning, and causing hundreds of thousands of children to miss school. In response, <strong>GoFundMe.org and ClassDojo have partnered to launch the Wildfire Education Recovery Fund to support verified fundraisers on the GoFundMe platform, focused on helping K-12 public schools recover and enabling children to return to learning. </strong>This fund was launched with an initial donation from ClassDojo of $25,000 and a match of $25,000 from GoFundMe.org.

The fund will also collaborate with neighboring districts to create access and provide support for affected schools and children throughout the region.

LA Wildfire Education Recovery Fund

<div><strong>United Way of the Central Savannah River Area (United Way CSRA), in Augusta, Georgia, its 2-1-1 Helpline</strong> and <strong>GoFundMe.org</strong> have joined forces to raise funds for families whose lives were turned upside down when Hurricane Helene struck. Donations to this fund will go toward unrestricted cash grants of $200 to help people pay for desperately needed supplies like food, water, clothing, and diapers. Additional grants will become available as new funds are raised through this impactful partnership.

<div>United Way CSRA’s 2-1-1 has seen a significant surge in calls from survivors of the storm who have lost everything and need help with basic needs, such as mothers who need diapers, water, and formula. A recent caller was a pregnant mother with a family of six whose house and three cars were damaged when trees fell on their property during Hurricane Helene; they are all staying in one spare bedroom with a family member and are in desperate need of water, food, baby essentials, and basic supplies to sustain their family while they wait for power and home repairs. There is no shortage of stories like these, from <strong>people having to make impossible choices about how to survive the day. </strong>

I will be standing outside in my neighborhood with a cardboard tree that has lots of items on it that the Best Friends Animal Society's pet adoption center in NYC needs. I will collect donations on the street and online, and at the end of the fundraiser, I will buy all the items they need and bring them to the Best Friends pet adoption center in a big "Newsworthy Delivery"!

<div>Like so many others affected by the devastating fires in Los Angeles, we are raising funds for our beloved cousin. Emily and her 7 year old daughter Clementine tragically lost their home in Altadena in the Eaton Fire. Thankfully, they were not at home when the fire struck.

<div>Emily is a single mom and a recent breast cancer survivor who makes a living as a freelance photographer.
</div>

<div>Today marks Clementine's 7th birthday, and Emily had the heartbreaking task of telling her that their home and her school are gone.

<div>Nothing was insured and everything will need to be replaced - beds, mattresses, bedding, furniture, electronics, kitchenware, appliances, clothing, school supplies, toys, as well as all of her work equipment, including cameras, cases, lenses, lighting, computers, and hard drives. And like so many others in her community, she now faces the daunting task of finding a new place for them to live.
