<div>Hello, my name is Vanessa, as some of you know, and I am starting this fundraiser for my husband, Mark.

<div>My husband proudly served our country in two wars and has always been the strongest person I know. He never imagined that after everything he endured in service, he would now be facing his hardest battle here at home.

<div>Medically, he is no longer able to use his legs without constant procedures at the hospital and home care to keep the blood circulating and his feet from turning blue. His veins are not properly pumping blood back to his heart. This will be a constant lifelong battle. This has left him unable to work and has greatly impacted his independence and quality of life. Watching him struggle has been heartbreaking, but we continue to fight every day.
