It has taken me some time to gather my thoughts and courage to write this, but the urgency to save my future, my life, and the lives of my family is stronger than any hesitation.

Save Ahmed and His Family in Gaza

<div>I never expected to be running the London Marathon.
</div>

<div>I entered the ballot with friends not expecting anything to come from it, but somehow I was lucky enough to secure a place for 2027.
</div>

<div>The only problem?
</div>

<div>I’m not a runner.
</div>

</div>
<div>Over the next nine months, I’ll be taking on the biggest challenge I’ve ever attempted - going from never running to standing on the start line of the London Marathon and completing 26.2 miles.

</div>
<div>But this journey isn’t really about me.
</div>

</div>
<div>I want to use this unexpected opportunity to support a little boy called Eliyas.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Eliyas is living with an extremely rare genetic condition called TUBB4A-related leukodystrophy, which affects the development of myelin in his brain - an essential substance involved in movement, coordination and neurological function.
</div>

</div>
<div>For Eliyas, everyday milestones that many of us take for granted are achievements that require incredible strength and determination.
</div>

</div>
<div>Holding his head up for longer.

<div>Despite the challenges he faces, Eliyas continues to show incredible resilience, supported by his loving family who are doing everything they can to give him the brightest possible future.

<div>A pioneering gene therapy programme in the United States could help slow or alter the progression of Eliyas’s condition, giving him the opportunity to continue reaching milestones and experiencing more of the moments every child deserves.

<p>My grooming van isn't fully functioning properly and needs major repair in order to get back on the road to take care of the fur babies waiting for me. As a pet groomer, my van is essential for reaching clients and providing the care their pets need. Right now, the van's generator is failing, making it impossible to operate my equipment and serve the animals who depend on me. 
</p><br />
<p>The funds raised will help me purchase a new generator for my van, allowing me to continue offering grooming services to the pets in our community. With your support, I can get back to work and ensure that every fur baby receives the care and attention they deserve. Your generosity will make a real difference in keeping my business running and helping local families and their pets.

Help Save My Pet Grooming Van

<div>I am walking 150km for to help fund Elsie’s many therapies and treatments for her medication resistant epilepsy.

<div>Elsie has a debilitating condition called Infantile Spasms, which is a serious form of Epilepsy and a medical emergency. Elsie continues to have seizures every 5 to 10 minutes, including in her sleep so she’s currently going through 100’s of seizures per day. Not only are these seizures exhausting for her little body, infantile spasms and the medications she is on, cause global developmental delay which affects movement, speech, eating, cognitive skills etc. Due to emotional trauma from all the treatments, Elsie is scared of eating orally so is fed a blended diet via a feeding tube. Everything a child can do easily day to day, Elsie struggles with and she needs 24/7 care and support, which resulted in Hannah giving up her self-made business 3 years ago and it’s likely she won’t be able to return to for the foreseeable future.

<div>Elsie was a happy, smiley little girl reaching all her milestones until one day at 4 months old, in aug 2023, she started having seizures, this then escalated quickly to hundreds of seizures daily over the next few days and she began gruelling treatment programs but unfortunately none of them worked.

<div>Elsie has spent months at a time in hospital and suffered numerous other illnesses as a result of her condition. She has been on countless medications (some have damaged her brain and all have severely impairing side effects) and NHS prescribed treatments to try and reduce her seizures but sadly none have had any significant or lasting effect, therefore her condition is classed as ‘uncontrolled and drug resistant’. She has had lots of testing done, been poked and prodded, she’s had surgery and been scanned by numerous machines over the past nearly 3 years and this will sadly continue until she improves. Elsie has not had a cause identified and this means we are limited in the support she can get from the already underfunded and overstretched NHS, plus it does not allow us to pinpoint a direct treatment route.

<div>At the start of 2024 we took the decision to look privately at support for her and over the next few months we started some therapies and continue to see improvements, particularly with her physical development.

<div>Since then we have spent every day researching a holistic approach to support her such as food, therapy and supplements all of which have proven positive, not just to help her epilepsy but for her overall health and wellbeing to enable her to have the childhood she deserves and a better quality of life.

<div>On Saturday, the 17th of January 2026, life changed forever. A phone call from abroad shattered my world. My beautiful, vivacious, confident daughter Chenai Johnson, 23 years of age had been in a car accident in Hurghada, Egypt. The accident caused horrific and devastating injuries; her spine was broken and her spinal cord severed. Chenai has a complete spinal injury she has no movement or feeling below the waist. Despite spinal fusion surgery she remains paralysed. Doctors say she will never walk again.

<div>Chenai is a strong, charismatic young lady who loves to dance and laugh. At the age of 22 she moved to Hurghada in Egypt pursing her dreams, working in entertainment as a sports animator.  Now she dreams of regaining her independence and adjusting to her new way of life. She has begun to do this with determination through physiotherapy where she works hard at strengthening her back and building up her arm strength ready for life as a wheelchair user.

<div>However, adjusting to her new life involves an ambulance escort from London Gatwick Airport, buying equipment, rehabilitation and making home adaptations to ensure she has the best possible life so in time she can regain her independence and become her best self.  These things come at a cost and as a family we are fighting her corner and doing everything we can.

<div>Eliyas is our nephew, and he means absolutely everything to our family.

<div>He’s just one year old, and he’s already facing more than most of us ever will.

</div>

<div>In January 2026, on his first birthday, our world changed forever. What should have been a weekend full of celebration became something none of us could have prepared for. My sister Jasmin and her husband Hasnain had to share the devastating news that Eliyas had been diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called TUBB4A-related leukodystrophy.

<div>I will never forget that moment.

<div>This condition affects how myelin develops in the brain, impacting movement, coordination and development. There is currently no cure, and without treatment, his future and ability to live a full life is uncertain.

<div>But there is hope.

<div>A pioneering gene therapy programme in Chicago, United States, could give Eliyas the chance to slow the progression of his condition and protect the abilities he has worked so hard to build through intensive physiotherapy.

<div>This treatment is unfortunately not offered by the UK’s NHS. Early intervention is critical, and right now, we are racing against time to raise enough funds in the coming months to give him that chance.

</div>

<div>Watching my sister and her husband navigate this has been incredibly emotional. The strength, resilience and love they show for Eliyas every single day is something I can’t even begin to put into words. They are doing everything they possibly can to fight for their son’s future, and I have so much respect for the sacrifices they are making, including relocating across the world for his treatment.

<div>That’s why we’ve decided to take on a challenge to raise funds for his treatment:

<div>This is completely outside of our comfort zone, and something we have been training hard for in the last few weeks.
