Dear friends- PLEASE read, consider, and share this post.
I have long had a BIG vision for a building our Operation Christmas Child work. 2026 is finally the year!
For 6 years now, the Mathews community and beyond has given generously for us to pack shoebox gifts for children around the world. The boxes are filled with school supplies, toys, hygiene items, clothing, shoes, love, and prayer. What began with 225 boxes packed in my mom’s garage in 2020 has grown exponentially each year, now having sent gifts to 24,168 children across the globe, allowing them to learn about the love of Jesus Christ. With that amazing growth has come big challenges with storage, sorting, packing, and logistics.
Having a workspace for “Amy’s Mission Friends” will multiply blessings! This building will:
*welcome volunteer groups of all ages
*store thousands of shoeboxes, donations, and supplies in one place, year-round
*provide an organized packing space year-round
*give space for sorting items (a massive task when managing items for thousands of boxes)
*allow buses and trucks to load efficiently
*allow us to say “yes” to more mission opportunities that arise
*eliminate the current difficulty of constantly having to move items to different locations for packing and preparing
*support growth for years to come
OCC statistics prove that each shoebox can impact 7-10 lives. That means that our community of 8,500 has impacted as many as 241,680 people. Imagine the global communities, orphanages, war zones, villages, churches, and literal ends of the earth where our love has reached!
If you are reading this, whether you are directly involved in our work for Operation Christmas Child or are only learning of this for the first time, I ask you to prayerfully consider making a donation. Whether it is $1 or any amount- every single dollar counts in making the vision a reality. Every dollar will ultimately bless tens of thousands more children. The shoebox gift is often the first gift a child has ever received, and the gift is received at an outreach event, where the Gospel of Christ is shared with children and families.
In order to make a building possible, I need to fundraise approximately $75,000. This is no small task, but I am stepping out in faith, believing in YOUR support and trusting God to use many people like you to make this happen.
If you are able to help in any way, I will be forever grateful. Thank you for helping me turn this dream into a reality! I can’t emphasize enough how much EVERY dollar counts. No amount is too small. Donations are being accepted by GoFundMe, cash, check, Venmo
(@amyashberry), cashapp ($amyashberry), PayPal (PayPal.me/amyashberry), FB Pay, Apple Pay, or Zelle.
It’s more than a building. It’s more than shoeboxes. It’s about lives being changed by Jesus on both sides of the box, in giving and receiving.
