Hola, mi nombre es Jholenne Álvarez y hoy quiero contarles la historia de mi nieto Derek, un pequeño guerrero de 1 año y 7 meses que ha tenido que enfrentar algo muy difícil para su corta edad. Desde hace algún tiempo, Derek ha estado sufriendo episodios de epilepsia, y los médicos en Ecuador nos han indicado que necesita con urgencia realizarse una resonancia magnética y un electroencefalograma. Estos estudios son fundamentales para poder saber qué está provocando las convulsiones y así encontrar el tratamiento adecuado que le permita mejorar su calidad de vida. El costo total de los exámenes asciende a aproximadamente $600 y, aunque como familia hemos hecho todo lo posible por reunir el dinero, no contamos con los recursos suficientes. Por eso, hemos decidido fijar una meta de $1,000 , ya que además de los estudios, Derek necesita cubrir gastos de traslado, medicamentos y cualquier imprevisto médico que pueda surgir durante este proceso. Ver a un bebé tan pequeño pasar por esto es muy doloroso, pero también nos llena de esperanza ver cómo tantas personas tienen un corazón solidario y están dispuestas a ayudar.
