Living with PTSD has made daily life a constant challenge. I experience panic attacks and mental downs almost every day, and it’s difficult for me to leave the house or be around groups of people. Because of this, I haven’t been able to work, and I often feel isolated and disconnected from the world. I’ve been on different antidepressants and mood stabilizers since I was 16, but they haven’t brought me the relief I need. Therapy has helped in some ways, but my symptoms get worse in group settings, making it hard to continue.

 Animals have always been a source of comfort for me. My elkhound calms me, but he’s too anxious to be a service dog. Since I was a kid, I’ve felt a deeper connection with animals than with people—they understand me without words. That’s why I’m seeking a trained service dog, who can help me manage my PTSD, depression, and anxiety, and give me the confidence to be more independent.

 The funds raised will go toward training a service dog that will be matched with me, as well as covering vet visits, shots, food, water, and ongoing training. Your support means the world to me, even if we’ve never met. With your help, I hope to start a new journey with a special companion and work toward getting back out into the world.
