<div>We are raising money for Annabel Baynie and her children Lucy (21), Benji (12) and Olive (9), after the devastating passing of their husband and dad Anthony on 24 June 2024.

<div>Last year, Anthony was extremely unwell and hospitalised on and off for 6 months. More recently, although still quite sick, he had been recovering at home with his family. Less than a month ago, they received the heartbreaking news that he had cancer for the third time (metastasised adenocarcinoma), which had spread throughout his lungs, ribs and spine. As they struggled to process this terminal diagnosis, he sadly passed away much sooner than anyone expected.

<div>Anthony was the epitome of a family man, adored by his children and wife and remaining a positive and formidable force within their Thornleigh home despite the challenges he faced over many years. A marriage that could be described as a real life fairytale, Annabel described him as "the finest man I have ever met".

<div>Anthony had previously had prostate cancer in 2012 and then chronic lymphocytic leukaemia in 2018. Then last year he spent 8 weeks in hospital, a month in ICU intubated in a medical coma and almost dying from septic shock.

<div>Unfortunately, Anthony was not able to get life insurance after his first cancer diagnosis. He and Annabel have worked hard during their careers as a nurse and a midwife respectively but the 12 years since Anthony's first cancer diagnosis have put many pressures on the Baynie family including financial ones. During the past year, Annabel has often been the carer for Anthony and has exhausted all her sick and annual leave. While we cannot take away the pain and grief for this beautiful family, we can help ease their financial worries. There will be funeral bills to pay, as well as medical and day to day costs for the family, which we propose any money raised would go towards.

Raising money for the family of Anthony Baynie

<div>As many of our community and friends may be aware, our beautiful friend Holly Howell (nee Hayes) has been  diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer at the end of 2023. In true Holly style  she has been nothing short of stoic and with her no-nonsense approach has set into immediate treatment. This has already involved 8 weeks of chemotherapy with 12 weeks to go and then onto radiation.

<div>For us as her mates with families of our own, we know the imposing financial pressures around the general cost of living in todays world and then on top of that the cost of providing our kids with every opportunity surrounding school, extracurricular and sporting ventures. Holly has desperately wanted to keep life as normal as possible for her family while she navigates her treatment and the long road to recovery. For her, she has chosen to work as much as physically possible, to help keep on top of things financially. Unfortunately of late, with the overwhelming sickness brought on by her treatment, she has had to take some time off work. Our hope is that by reaching out to you, we can take away the need for Holly to push through working and instead concentrate on getting through her treatment and staying strong in both her mind and body.

<div>Anyone that knows Holly and David and their family, know how strong and independent they are, so accepting any help has been a challenge within itself. As Holly approaches the half way mark of her treatment regime, the pressure on their family unit is mounting. We feel the need to do something to show our forever love and support, from afar and one way we can all help this beautiful family is to donate through this Go Fund Me Page. Even the smallest amount would mean the world to Holly and her family and will help to alleviate the stress this is placing on the family, and allow Holly to take time to recover.

<div>The Hayes/Howell family in support of Holly, are participating in a Breast Cancer Fundraiser run/walk in Queensland in on the 10th of March. To be alongside Holly and her family but from afar we are planning a friendly run/walk in Holly’s hometown of Bombala, on the same day to show our support. If you’d like to join us as we walk for and with Holly, head on down to the Bombala Pool car park on the 10th of March at 9am as we walk 3 laps of the river track together.

<div>Hi, we are Tiff and Curtis Snyder and we live on Maui. We are asking for $10 donations so that we can raise money to help buy supplies and deliver them directly to evacuation shelters and local families in need who have lost absolutely everything in the fires.

<div>On Tuesday August 8th, 2023, wild fires ripped through Maui, destroying homes, businesses and many historical buildings. Thousands of Maui residents had to flea their homes without warning and have lost everything they own. The death toll continues to rise and as of today (11th August, 2023), there are 2800 people missing/unaccounted for.

<div>The Maui community is in desperate need of help and supplies including water, gas, diapers, baby formula, feminine mensturation products, men, womens, kids underwear and clothing, bedding, food, first aid essentials...the list goes on!

<div>Every cent that we raise will be spent on whatever supplies are required as the demands seem to change on a daily basis as to what is desperately needed. The supplies will be purchased by us and delivered by us to evacuation centres and local families in need. 
</div>
