I am a teacher at Garden City Elementary School in Brooklyn Center. Last night (Thursday, May 7th), three of our families were displaced due to a townhome fire. One family lost their home and all of their belongings, while the other two were displaced due to the water and smoke damage. The amazing staff at our school has donated money to put one of the families in a long-term hotel for a week. We are hoping to raise more funds for longer stays as well as basic essentials for these families. If you happen to be local and have clothing you could donate, these are the sizes needed: Girl: clothing sizes 8/9 or 10/12, shoe size 2 6th grade boy: men’s size 38 pants, XL or 1X shirts, men’s shoe size 10½–11 Girl: juniors size 16 or small women’s clothing, shoe size 6½ or 7Y Boy: 3T–4T clothing, shoe size 10½–11C Girl: women’s size 32 pants, 2X shirts, women’s shoe size 8 Girl: women’s size 12/14 pants, large shirts, women’s shoe size 9 We are happy to pick up wherever is convenient for you in the Twin Cities metro area!
