Heart of Care Full-Spectrum Community Treatment Service was created from years of lived experience in recovery, peer support, caregiving, mental health advocacy, and community outreach. After years working in mental health and human services, I saw firsthand how many individuals and families fall through the cracks once immediate crisis support ends. Heart of Care was built as a grassroots, trauma-informed wellness and outreach initiative focused on emotional wellness, grief support, peer support, community connection, and practical outreach for underserved individuals and families in Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida.
Over the past year, nearly every part of building this vision has been funded personally out of pocket while continuing to work caregiving and support roles. The need for support right now is to help create sustainable infrastructure so this work can continue to grow in a healthy and realistic way. Funds raised will help support: • Folding tables and chairs for community classes and support groups • Website and domain setup • Outreach hygiene and wellness kits • Gardening and horticulture wellness supplies • Fuel and transportation for outreach • Workshop and educational materials • Trauma-informed bracelet engagement supplies • Basic community program infrastructure at Cat Nap Inn
Heart of Care is rooted in the belief that healing and support should feel human, compassionate, creative, and accessible. Every donation, shared post, or contribution helps support grassroots, person-centered outreach and wellness efforts designed to help people feel seen, supported, and connected within the community. Thank you for supporting this vision and helping build stronger community care.
