After being diagnosed with heart failure over two years ago, Jani has spent the last one and a half years on the transplant list waiting for a new heart, and finally, the time has come!! The recovery time for this is extensive, and our hero Stevie will be concentrating all of his time caring for his beautiful wife of 30 years as she continues her epic journey. In addition, he will need to quit his paying job because this is the most critical work either of them has or will ever do. Money is needed for medical bills, medications, food, household bills and all the things.

Message from Jerry Joseph<br /><br />Hey all .....<br />Welcome to the ( gofundme) for<br />J.R. ( Junior) Ruppel<br />Junior has been diagnosed with debilitating COPD and complications as a result and in tandem ... sadly it’s a disease that does not come with prognosis of a cure ... bluntly , it’s just going to get worse ..<br />While he’s receiving care from some excellent Salt Lake City medical professionals , this condition has left him severely debilitated, he can no longer work , much less , somedays ,walk across the room ... his Utah disability is in the monthly low ( very low) hundreds of dollars, not enough to cover rent and basic cost of living expenses ...<br />while we ( his friends and family ) are looking at long term care options and various treatments that can perhaps mitigate the deterioration... there is an immediate need for financial help ..<br />There are numerous ideas for future fund raising ... however , this is a urgent call for help ...<br />There’s no bells or prizes ... no tiered contributor levels ... with special colored keepsakes ...<br />Juniors contribution to the world of music speaks for itself ... from bringing punk and bad ass bands to Salt Lake ... to his 20 years in the Jackmormons.. his place in the Salt Lake and greater JMO world ..has been simply one of a kind ... and our lives are so much the better for it.<br />As there is no “aging musician “ back up plan ... Spotify royalties being literally pennies ...<br />My hope is that the music community can step up ....  and tho I bang this drum repeatedly for kids in refugee camps etc ...I am frantically and loudly banging it again ..<br />Those of you that know me , know I hate the word “family “ bandied about a music scene to imply I’m some how related to the sketchy promoter stiffing my band ....<br />however .... this is Junior ... this is as family as it gets ... you only get one of these punk rock big bird skirt wearing lunatics that sings like a 12 year old girl .... just one .... I am thrilled to have been selected as part of a  <a href="http://pwb.ngo/" target="_blank">Performers Without Borders</a> tour to bring joy and education to the children of Nicarugua through circus arts! <br /><br />I am part of a team of seven that will be traveling for 3 months through Nicaragua this winter to teach, perform, play, and inspire! <br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/14314491_1474504087.8779_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><br />Circus and Juggling has been my life passion for over 10 years. Nothing makes me happier than being able to take this magical, transformative practice and share it with as many people as possible. Circus has enriched my life beyond measure, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to share this experience with underserved communites. Eli: Circus to Children! Nicaragua

Hello,<br /><br /> Brianna here on behalf of my boyfriend and best friend Jeff Crosby. As some of you are aware Jeff was recently hospitalized from an acute virus that attacked his heart. He is currently out and resting up, however, the road to recovery does not end with the improvement of his health. More on that later, here’s what happened… <br /><br /> Two weeks ago Jeff returned from playing shows with Jerry Joseph in Mexico. First day back on American soil he headed straight to his favorite recording studio, Bedrock in Echo park. On the third night he started to get pretty sick. At first he thought it was the usual Montezuma’s revenge caught in Mexico.  Unfortunately, the symptoms progressed and became more frequent until he called me at 4:00 am with excruciating chest pain and a heavy left arm. The decision was made to check into a 24-hour clinic. They ran some test and told him to go home and rest. Awaking again at 5:00 am, to a call from the clinic stating to find the closest hospital immediately.<br /><br /> He called an Uber, arrived at the ER and was quickly rushed into the ICU. Fearing a heart attack, they began a plethora of tests to determine what was wrong. After 36 hours in the ICU with family by his side they were able to release Jeff, stating that he did have a minor heart attack yet the damage shouldn’t be permanent.  The virus caused some major complications. So he has to take it easy for a while….<br /><br /> Like I said, the road to recovery doesn’t end there. Jeff recently received the hospital bill… $39,065, a shock to us all. With Jeff being a touring musician with no health insurance this is a large mountain to climb.<br /><br />I ask for your help, to get Jeff back on the road -- writing songs, telling stories and playing music for you all!  Any financial help is greatly- no enormously appreciated. Everything that is donated will go to clearing the hospital bill.<br /><br />Thank you so very much in advance for your generous donation, whatever it may be. Usually musicians ask for fan donations to fund a new album or a tour, he’s always shied away from that route.
