<div>On Saturday, October 5, Pastor Renee, Asya, and Frank were struck by a car while crossing a road on their way to an event in Bedford, NH. The car was going approximately 40 MPH. Pastor Renee has the most serious injuries: to her head, wrist, and ankle, along with bruising and abrasions. She had surgery on her face and has been transferred from a hospital to a rehab center. Asya sustained a broken leg and a chipped bone in her heel, along with bruising and abrasions. Frank sustained a back injury, along with some bruising and abrasions. Both Asya and Frank are at home.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Pastor Renee will not be able to work during her recovery. We are also anticipating significant out-of-pocket costs for medical care. Donations are welcome on this GoFundMe fundraiser as well as through a <a href="https://mealtrain.com/ddykwl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Meal Train</a> set up to assist with meals, rides, companionship, caregiving, and general assistance during this time. Note that due to fees, more of your donation will go to the family through GoFundMe.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your care and concern for Pastor Renee, Asya, and Frank. We, their family, are hoping and praying for full physical and emotional recovery, and all their needs to be met.

<div>Dear Little Harbour Fifth Grade Families &amp; Community,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Fifth Grade Gift is given annually by the LHS graduating class as a way to memorialize their unique experience. This year, students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders decided to recognize the tragic loss of the fifth graders’ classmate, Quarius Dunham, who was killed by a man shooting at passing cars on May 28, 2022 in South Carolina.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Quarius excelled at every sport he tried, but there were two he especially loved: basketball and soccer. He played with passion, and showed true sportsmanship on and off the court. He was rarely seen without a ball in hand, Nikes on his feet, and good buddies in tow. Ask his classmates and they’ll tell you he was:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>THE fastest kid at LHS
</li>
<li>ALWAYS a first-round draft pick for recess soccer and football teams
</li>
<li>SURE to join the NBA someday, and
</li>
<li>THEIR BEST FRIEND, because that’s how he made everyone feel.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a way to honor Quarius and keep his memory alive, we have come together to give the school and the greater Portsmouth community a newly sealed <strong>basketball court</strong> with two adjustable hoops. In addition, we have commissioned local artist, <a href="https://www.greenart.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Thomas Berger</a> , to sculpt a <strong>stone artwork</strong> inspired by Quarius’ love for speed, sports, and friendship.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The newly sealed court and adjustable basketball hoops have already been installed on the playground for the fifth grade to enjoy during their final year at LHS. With the help of Thomas Berger, we will also be placing a stone sculpture near the court as a tribute to Quarius. The court will be painted and sculpture delivered sometime this spring, with a formal dedication ceremony to follow before the school year ends.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Quarius dreamed big and believed he’d play in the NBA someday. His classmates are dreaming just as big to honor him, seeking to raise <strong>$6,500*</strong> to complete this special tribute. Please help us reach our goal!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you,
</div>

<div>On Thursday, January 18, at 6:41, New London Dispatch toned out a first-alarm structure fire at Hannafords in New London. Sunapee Fire responded mutual aid with Engine 2, Ladder 5, and Tanker 4. This put three of our apparatus out of town along with most of our available personnel. First arriving New London units found an active fire in the Bakery of Hannafords. Sunapee Fire arrived on the scene and assisted with investigation and smoke removal. Sunapee Fire Chief John Galloway, knowing that we would be tied up in New London for quite some time, requested a cover truck from Goshen to cover the Town of Sunapee.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While Sunapee Engine 2, Ladder 5, and Tanker 4 were still on scene in New London, at 7:40 PM, New London Dispatch transmitted a first-alarm for 27 Prospect Hill Road in Sunapee for smoke in the building. Our cover truck from Goshen responded directly as the call came in while they were en route to the station. Concurrently, Sunapee Engine 2 cleared New London and reported to 27 Prospect Hill. Shortly thereafter, Ladder 5 and Tanker 4 were released from the fire scene in New London and transitioned to the 27 Prospect Hill Road incident. While the initial first-alarm companies were en route, our dispatch updated responding units and advised that the caller was reporting a fire in the back of the building. At 7:49, Goshen Engine 2 arrived first on the scene and reported an active fire in the building and that they were stretching a hose line to extinguish it. Units from Sunapee Fire that had responded from both the scene in New London and Sunapee Safety Services started arriving shortly after Goshen Engine 2 and joined their crew in the fire attack. Very quickly, firefighters discovered that due to the age of the building and the type of construction, the fire had gotten a significant head start and was burning in between the floors and in the walls. At this time, Sunapee Fire Chief John Galloway updated the assignment to a second alarm, with many more alarms and special requests to come throughout the night.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sunapee Fire, along with all our mutual aid companies, engaged in an aggressive interior fire attack within the building to try to save as much as possible. Ultimately, the fire got into the roof, and we had to use ladder trucks to assist in extinguishing the fire. The fire ended up going to 5+ Alarms and included an activation of the Souhegan Valley Strike Team, which consisted of units from Nashua, Bedford, Merrimack, Milford, and Goffstown. Sunapee Fire and our mutual aid companies were on the scene for almost 20 hours, before fully extinguishing the fire. We were assisted on the scene by the following departments and entities:

Sunapee Manor 5 alarm fire relief

<div>As many of you know, Denise was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2021. She fought so hard to stay with us but in the early hours of Monday December 26, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones, God called her home. Our dear beautiful Niecy is finally at peace.
</div>
<div>Denise was brave, strong, feisty and generous. She was a supportive, loving mother, sister and daughter and the absolute best grandmother. She was a star, a bright spark in this world and she will be deeply missed.
</div>
<div>We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of cremation services and a funeral. We would love to give Denise the memorial she deserves, to honor her memory and to celebrate the beautiful soul that she was.
</div>
<div>Please consider donating if you are able to do so. We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.
