I’m in the middle of Chemotherapy. Every other week I have 72 hours of chemo. Right now the chemo is going better than the last time and hopefully shrinking everything down to eventually have surgery!
I’m raising a little support to help me keep doing something that has become incredibly important to me: playing golf. I’m currently battling stage 4 colorectal cancer and going through chemotherapy and treatments. Over the past year, cancer has changed just about every part of my life. There have been plenty of difficult days, and there are days when simply getting out of the house can be a challenge. Then I found golf. What started as something I could do for a little exercise and a change of scenery turned into something I genuinely fell in love with. Golf gives me a reason to get outside, move around, clear my head, and have something to look forward to—even on the tougher days of treatment. I’ve done my best to make it as affordable as possible. I play with some of the cheapest clubs I could find, shop at Goodwill and secondhand stores for golf clothes and equipment, and look for every possible way to save a few bucks. I’m definitely not out there playing with a $5,000 setup! The problem is that even bargain golf adds up. Green fees, range balls, tournament entries, equipment, balls, gloves, and all the little expenses that come with playing can be tough to keep up with while I’m going through cancer treatment and unable to work like I normally would. So I’m asking for a little help keeping this part of my life going. This isn’t about fancy equipment or playing the nicest courses. It’s about being able to keep doing something that has brought a lot of joy and normalcy into a pretty abnormal chapter of my life. If you’re able to contribute, I truly appreciate it. And if you can’t, sharing this or even just following along with my golf journey means a lot to me. Thank you for helping me keep swinging, keep getting outside, and keep finding some good days in the middle of a tough fight.
