 6 years ago we were faced with a rare and difficult diagnosis of infertility that moved doctors to share with us that conceiving children on our own was impossible and we should pursue other paths to parenthood apart from our own biological children. We know nothing is impossible with our God and he can always change our story, but until He does we feel called to use this opportunity God has given us to meet a need. Currently there is a need for families to adopt through snowflake or embryo adoption. There is close to 1 million orphans currently frozen in storage as too often fertility clinics and the current IVF process leads to the conception of more embryos than a couple can use for IVF.

 These tiny image bearers of God face one of 4 options: destruction or donation for research both of which lead to death of the embryo, indefinite frozen storage, or adoption, which is where we are stepping in! We believe that God ultimately holds life in His hands and he has blessed these frozen babes with LIFE!

 We have completed a home study and matched with a kind and compassionate couple that is choosing LIFE for their remaining embryos. They chose the McCart family to be a forever home for them and we are truly honored. Snowflake adoption allows Amanda to carry our adopted child through the process of an embryo transfer. The process of embryo adoption is costly. The funds from this fundraiser will go to the adoption process and medical procedures associated with the transfer.

<div>Our perpetually cheerful colleague and buddy Kevin Tobin had a rough break in July after sustaining a number of facial injuries from a fall. He'll be undergoing surgery for a number of broken bones and related complications, but to the surprise of no one who knows him, he remains in good spirits and still finds a way to laugh at Miles' dad jokes.

<div>Still, medical expenses are a daunting inevitability looming ahead. No matter how small, any donation will be helpful for Kevin and his family to help offset the unexpected bills headed their way.

<div>I'm Peter Hastings and I'm raising funds for my brother, Jeff, and his family (Lesleigh, Tommy, and Ashleigh).  They were out of town recently when they were notified early in the morning that their home in Apex, NC had burned to the ground, along with all of their possessions.  They returned home to find everything they owned in a pile of smoldering ash.  The devastation is complete; what they were wearing, along with what they had packed for a warm couple of days in Florida, are the only clothes they have.  Along with 20 years' worth of irreplaceable memories, all their possessions in the house - furniture, appliances, books, food - are simply gone.

<div>They are insured and the house will be rebuilt...eventually.  But in the meantime, they are faced with the daunting task of trying to reassemble their lives, clothe and feed the family, and deal with the impact of having lost virtually everything they own.

Help Shawn and Willard rebuild their studio

<img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/56197896_1618843333411277_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="56197896_1618843333411277_r.jpeg" />Albert is family to us.  He is our firefighter, assigned to us  out of recruit class.  He is an amazing man.  He is a wonderful person.  As the saying goes, behind every good man there is an even better woman that loves and supports him, and that is his wife, Tiffany.   Tiffany is the kindest sweetest person you will ever meet.  She is always happy and smiling and loves her husband and two girls.   In October 2019 Tiffany  was diagnosed with breast cancer.  After Chemo and Lumpectomy in March 2020, Tiffany had a mastectomy in August 2020.  In March of this year she began having issues and then in April of this year she was diagnosed that the cancer had gotten into her blood stream.   Tiffany is a fighter and she is going to beat this.  However it will not be easy and the cost will add up.  We are asking you for help in meeting the financial needs of the family.  All the money donated will go directly to assist Albert and Tiffany and their two girls (CeAndra and Jasmine).  Any amount will help ease their burden while we as a station and department walk with Tiffany and Albert during this time.  We appreciate anything that you can do and especially covet the prayers and thoughts while Tiffany continues this battle.

Lilly update #4.  It pains me to update you all with less than positive news.  Lilly reported to me this morning that she had a turn for the worse yesterday and is continuing today.   She desperately needs your continued prayers.   The treatments were thought to be helping,  but have seen no progress since Friday. Dr's from around the world are meeting today to experiment on the next phase of treatment.   They need divine guidance.  Lilly is in uncharted waters with no real boat.  <br /><br />She shared with me that her symptoms start with a severe battle with fever and chills.  Then,  shortly after her body opens up with even more lesions.   Each occurrence can cause 50 to 100 more across her entire body.   She is in such awful pain.  She shared with me a few pictures that i just can't come to grips to post because of the severe trauma her body is going through.   Just know,  it's as bad as you can imagine a 17 year old girl to have to go through.  She obviously is not going home for Christmas as we hoped for.<br /><br />Many of you asked me "what can we do".  Her church had supported the rest of their family with meals for 2 weeks,  but now that scenario has ended.  We could provide some assistance for her mom,  dad and brother.   If any of you want to assist remotely,  I'll coordinate.  Just message me and we can figure out logistics.<br /><br />She appreciates the prayers, and needs them on so many levels.   I cut and paste many of them to her, so she gets to read them.  <br /><br />My hope is that this sweet young lady will become a Senior Rep for all, and not just mine.   Her story needs to live on in all of us.  She needs all of us!<br /><br />Pray for Lilly.

Hello Friends,<br /><br />I hope you are doing well during these times. <br /><br />Healthcare is a small world. I met Karrie through her sister, Megan Musselman, a pharmacist with whom I work with. For those of you who do not personally know Karrie, she is one of the strongest, most positive, energetic, and family-oriented ladies I know. She has touched so many lives during her pharmacy career. While Karrie is a private person, but has given me permission to share her current struggle.<br /><br />A few weeks ago, Karrie went in for a routine check due to tightness and heaviness in her chest. A chest X-ray was done and unfortunately a mass was discovered.  A biopsy has confirmed Karrie has Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She has begun chemotherapy and radiation therapy to follow.<br /><br />Karrie’s husband and three children, Evan (19), Lauren(17), and Justin (16) are her biggest priority. Karrie and her family are so appreciative of the outpouring of support and love they have received already, and are staying positive and strong.
